Hotel is located on gorgeous beach and provides umbrellas and lounge chair. The staff is wonderful, ready to help. The room are spacious the only thing is missing are luggage racks. The restaurant is good for drinks but breakfasts are better in Rooster Cafe, about 7 min walks from the hotel.

"Great proximity to most beautiful beach on island"
The proximity of this hotel to the most incredible beach on the island is the selling point. The hotel lacks amenities...don't expect a hair dryer, kleenix or washcloths. You will pay between $3.50-4.00 U.S (depending on conversion rate) a day for a beach chaise and unless you get to the beach early, you won't get one. Just because you are staying at Cabanas does not guarantee you a chaise; the beach is open to the public. They do provide beach towels at the front desk but only every two days; so keep it clean!
That being said I still always go there because of the convenience of the beach, the small size of the hotel itself and a clean pool. Hammocks at the pool where worn and need to be replaced. The rooms are bare essential but clean. Beds aren't very comfortable but again sheets are clean. The cabanas have nice patios with little tables and now they've added rocking chairs. The complimentary breakfast at Buho's (across the street) includes coffee, toast and great fresh squeezed orange juice. But, you can order from their menu if you want a bigger breakfast.
So if you don't care about frills, but demand cleanliness and a great beach; this might be a good choice. Families with kids might get bored but excellent for adults.

I have stayed here before in Isla Mujeres and this hotel. . Very well maintained hotel with the chance to use some of the kitchen facilities in the check in area. Nice balcony with chairs on each floor to view the island life and read.

Accessible by ferry, Isla Mujeres is a major ecotourism destination. El Parque Natural Garrafón (Garrafón Natural Reef Park) features coral reefs inhabited by schools of fish. Giant sea turtles come ashore at Tortugranja to lay eggs. North of Isla Mujeres, thousands of rare and tropical birds roost at a natural sanctuary on Isla Contoy.
