"Centrally placed hotel "
We found the hotel easily[coming in from the airport]. The parking was easy, handy and not too expensive. We arrived the weekend of the festival and the whole of the city was 'buzzing' with activity. We were straight out of the hotel door into the throng. It was fantastic. There was a good view of the fireworks from near the hotel and lots of music, bars and food outlets nearby. we really enjoyed it,despite being on the old side. we just went with the flow --went to bed late and got up late. A superb and unexpected experience.

"Good, comfortable hotel. Easy to reach rest of city"
We were able to visit major places of interest very easily. e.g. Guggenheim Art Gallery, maritime museum and funicular railway. Cafes were a real treat for coffee and snacks. Location was only just over an hour away from Haro, the home to Rioja production. Well worth a visit.

"An excellent stay in Bilbao"
My first trip to Bilbao and it started well with an excellent check-in. The room was spacious, clean, well thought-out and had a superb view including a delightful balcony with tables and chairs - so on the 9th floor it was quite a panorama. The only (very) minor negative was a somewhat threadbare carpet so all in all a good stay. Oh, and the WiFi was free, fast and mainly very stable. The location is very good indeed, near the river a 5 minute walk to the Guggenheim or 15-20 minutes to the Old Town along a broad river promenade - terrific.

"Good hotel with good transport links"
We stayed in the Zenit Bilbao in July 2015 for two nights. The hotel is bright and light. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Rooms are not huge but have good facilities and are air-conditioned. The tram line, which takes you to all the main tourist sites, old town etc, finishes outside the hotel. And it is three stops from bus station (where airport bus arrives and buses to places through the region leave). The metro is close, there are lots of cafes and restaurants within ten mins walk and the main sites are within 30 mins walk.

"Clean and modern but a bit isolated"
We visited in October mid week 3 nights partly because it was a bargain price and partly to see the Getxo part of Bilbao - it was an interesting 30min watefront walk to the Bizkaia transporter bridge. We used the metro to get in to central Bilbao which was very cheap (using the Barik card) but the 10 minute walk to the station is rather bizarre and memorable involving three graffitti swathed underpasses. However it seemed a very nice quiet neighbourhood with lots of joggers and dog walkers in the park across the road so not scary. The room was spotless and with the windows closed there was no sound from the traffic on the busy road outside. The air conditioning was very good. There is only a dining room offering a 3 course set menu with 3 choices for 16.50euros which includes a bottle of wine and water per table which is quite reasonable but not always what you want. I enjoyed my fish dish but my husband hated his chicken which was like a cardboard biscuit. We did not try the breakfast. There is no bar or any way to just get coffee. The minibar charged 3.65 for a kitkat! We did not find any cafes or bars that we liked around the hotel and it takes about 30 minutes to get in to the centre on the metro but if you are interested in exploring the Getxo part of Bilbao I would recommend this hotel.

Bilbao is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Bilbao, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Bilbao hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
