My other half & I wanted to treat ourselves to a nice hotel in Seattle for the weekend and chose the Fairmont, based upon its reputation. From the time we arrived until the time we checked out, we were treated with the utmost professionalism & given the attention that royalty might receive. Valets are at your service, doormen very kind, and the rest of the staff is excellent as well. Not knowing it was our anniversary, reception upgraded us to a suite at no additional charge upon checking in - adding a nice touch to our experience.
After a night out, the lounge is a wonderful, intimate spot for a nightcap. Normally we don't "do" hotel lounges, but I'm happy we tried this one only to return the next night!
My only complaints: the smaller-than-expected pool (which was chock-full of screaming children for our adults-only anniversary trip) and the very high-priced in-room dining menu (20% gratuity charged, plus another line to add more tip + $4 delivery charge for room service...why not just increase the already exorbitant prices?). My hope is that the Fairmont adjusts their pool policy to exclude children from the pool & spa area after 6 or 7pm. It is impossible to relax in the hot tub or go for a swim with children splashing about & screaming. Other than those two minor things, it's lovely! Highly recommend the Fairmont Olympic!

As we've experienced previously, our stay was totally wonderful. The rooms have been recently redone and are even better than before and the staff are always friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The lounge is fun and the live music in the lobby/lounge area on Friday night was great. Had breakfast at Trace which was yummy. An all round great experience that we've come to expect at the W.

The front desk staff were very welcoming, friendly, and efficient. The room was spotless and quiet, although not large, and the furnishings were relatively new. The bed was on the firm side. We were on the second floor and it was nice to have a slider. There is a free airport shuttle. I don't mind having a toiletry dispenser in the shower rather than the little bottles, but the body wash was empty (fortunately, there was a bar of hand soap). The towels were good quality. I would stay there again but would not eat the free breakfast unless I was desperate--it was below average even for free breakfast--gummy little muffins, powdered eggs (if they weren't, they sure looked and tasted like it), pineapple and melon with the rinds on, and watery juice. The sausage patty was OK and the coffee was good.

The room was amazing - the view of the freeway - not so much. Check in was very pleasant, the checkout - not so much - not enough staff. The staff knocked on our door at 9:00 - ready to clean even though check out was not until noon. Somewhat disappointed there wasn't a non-smoking casino.......
