Initially, I had booked a reservation at Wyndham but was relocated to their sister hotel, Embassy Suites. Upon check-in, I was directed to the Hilton Honours line but was advised to wait ten minutes before proceeding to the other line. The wait for the elevators to ascend was an extremely unpleasant experience. However, our room was spacious, and they provided us with a crib for our infant.

For $750 a night I expect the bed to be comfortable enough to get through 2 nights. Waiting for the elevator was a 30 minute wait EVERY Time. You will be entertained with elevator war stories from other guests though, a way of bonding since we all experienced the same. Good luck if you forgot something in your room, your children will have aged considerably by the time you return to the lobby, you may not recognize them anymore. And it's not because of volume, it's because they haven't programmed them properly. So when you pay extra to be on the 40th floor for a great view, you'll have to make 15 stops on the way up and down each time (no dedicated elevator for higher floors) and crammed in like sardines because no one wants to wait for the next one...and then 10 of those 15 stops will be for nothing because multiple elevators stop at those floors at the same time so there is no one to pick up, unless that guest chooses your slightly less crammed box to jump in rather than the other. Roseanne the manager from the buffet should not be a position of power in the customer service department. FYI - sepite no times being posted in the hundreds of posters they have stating that brunch is busiest from 8:30-close (it closes at 9:30). We wanted to use the pull out couch for my son and called the front to get an extra comforter. We were told that despite paying $750 for a room that sleeps 5, the 5th guest will have to use fleece blankets or else you must pay a $150 comforter charge.

Due to the Wyndham housing evacuees from wildfires, they switched us to their sister property, the Embassy suites by Hilton. We had a partial fall view King suite which was very nice. The room was clean and well taken care of. The property was extremely crowded and the elevator situation in the hotel was quite frustrating. There are definitely not enough elevators for the amount of people that stay there. Waiting 10 to 15 minutes for an elevator was routine.

Great Location, but It’s Not All Gumdrops and Rose

We were switched from the Fallsview to Embassy Suites due to fire evacuees. Upon arrival, I upgraded to a room with a view of both falls, and the fireworks! The view was great. The bed was not at all comfortable. Breakfast was ok; the same each day. Our waitresses were fabulous! The reception with snacks : we went, and left despite the offer of a free drink. Snack were just that. Pretzels, tortilla chips. It was very crowded, so we passed. Parking fee is $70 CAN per night. Many of the spaces are ridiculously tight. The hotel is so crowded that there are always people all over in the lobby. Despite being on a floor that uses the blue elevator, There is always quite a wait for the elevator to come. The location is great, but some things definitely need improvement.

We didn’t get to stay in the hotel we booked. They moved us to another hotel not even with a discount. Not the same view we had booked. Room for the price was not great and instead of a discount of moving hotels they tried to upsell us to get a better room?! Bed was comfortable, so the sleep was fine. The free breakfast was a madhouse, not worth it. If you want to park at the hotel it’s $70 on top of the room. The only redeeming factor of our stay were the fantastic staff, and that the World Santa Claus Convention was happening and there were a lot of nice Santa Claus’
