We had a lovely overnight stay at the Portland by Sunday Hotel in Manchester's Piccadilly area. The location is excellen right in the heart of the city and within easy walking distance of Manchester Piccadilly Station, the Opera House Theatre, and plenty of great restaurants, bars and shops. The hotel has a quirky character with fun décor throughout, featuring sunglasses, umbrellas, boots and weather-themed displays, which gives it a unique personality. The staff were all warm, welcoming and very helpful We stayed during a heatwave, but the air conditioning in the room worked brilliantly and ensured we had a comfortable night's sleep. We paid an extra £10.for a late checkout, giving us an extra hour in bed after a night out in Manchester, and it was well worth it. We also paid just £4 to store our two bags after checkout, which allowed us to enjoy an afternoon of shopping without having to carry luggage around the city. Although we didn't eat in the restaurant, we enjoyed a few beers in the bar while watching the World Cup, and the atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable. The only minor downside was the room entrance. The hallway between the door and the sleeping area is quite narrow, so larger guests or anyone using mobility aids may find access a little restricted. It certainly wouldn't put me off staying again, but it's something worth being aware of. Great stay overall, room was a bit small but very clean, had AC which was required in the heat. I liked filtered water station on the floor, staff check in forgot the free drinks we had in our boking and needed to eb reminded, could've been a bit friendlier but would stay here again. Good location.

Excellent stay in a quirky setting. Lovely little touches like pick and mix, free drink on arrival and a great breakfast. Comfy bed, excellent soundproofing and lovely facilities throughout.

Charming welcome. Very helpful. Central. Great view 10th floor. Gray bed and towels. Shower powerful. Lovely touch of free soft drinks on very hot day.

Perfect stay in the city centre close to all amenities, very clean and spacious room.

Only issue I had was the bathroom locks were not working

Hyatt House was exceptionally clean. The bathroom and the room were lovely. The food was very good. The restaurant was great and staff member Anna was very helpful.
