The hotel and staff wee very good. The main reason I’ve marked them down is the fact that you cannot co tact the hotel directly by phone. I tried at least four times and spent about an hour listening to pretty awful piped music holding the line open. The parking was a problem in as much that you have to pre-book. This isn’t mentioned during the booking process but only after you’ve booked in an email from the hotel. As ours was a flying visit to visit a poorly relative urgently I couldn’t book a fortnight before as the receptionist seemed to expect guests to do. I am also unhappy with Expedia inasmuch that when I searched for an hotel with a car park, I didn’t expect it to be limited parking. Fortunately, there is offsite parking about a five minute walk away from the hotel but, of course, security is a bit of an issue.

This is the second time in 2mths we’ve stopped at this hotel the first time fantastic, this time not so good, I wanted to speak to someone about our issues when checking out but there was no one around we did wait but no one came, The room was lovely although the plug didn’t fit the bath, But what really annoyed us was the shouting, swearing and fighting outside under our widow at silly o’clock in the morning, coming from the landlord of the pub that has recently opened as part of the hotel and what I can only presume other members of staff, and another occasion silly o’clock in the morning again somebody shouting swearing on the phone again under our bedroom window This has made us think twice about returning

I liked the edge of town centre location, everything was walkable, the staff were very helpful and friendly The parking was good, but expensive at £11.25 per 24 hours I have stayed in many Holiday Inn Expresses's and the one thing that let this one down was the breakfast, when compared to elsewhere, the breakfast buffet itself was in a very cramped alcove and the selection wasn't that great.

As one would expect from a four star hotel the room was clean and well appointed. A lovely bathroom with very good shower. The evening meals were superb with everything beautifully cooked. The breakfast food was also very nice. The staff were friendly and very efficient. Parking was easy with plenty of room. Rather than drive into Lincoln we took a five minute walk to the nearest bus stop. Just a five minute ride into the city.
