The hotel and staff wee very good. The main reason I’ve marked them down is the fact that you cannot co tact the hotel directly by phone. I tried at least four times and spent about an hour listening to pretty awful piped music holding the line open. The parking was a problem in as much that you have to pre-book. This isn’t mentioned during the booking process but only after you’ve booked in an email from the hotel. As ours was a flying visit to visit a poorly relative urgently I couldn’t book a fortnight before as the receptionist seemed to expect guests to do. I am also unhappy with Expedia inasmuch that when I searched for an hotel with a car park, I didn’t expect it to be limited parking. Fortunately, there is offsite parking about a five minute walk away from the hotel but, of course, security is a bit of an issue.

Nice couple of nights. Excellent food in the restaurant when taking an evening meal. OK breakfast. All the restaurant and room staff were courteous and friendly. A few issues with reception and booking staff. We are still waiting for the £100 holding payment to be refunded six days after returning home!! Appears that the accounts department is very quick to take and very slow to refund!!

Vvery good location for the theatres and city centre

A nice hotel with extremely pleasant and helpful staff. The hotel has character though our room was a little dated and of need of modernisation. Breakfast was excellent, a good mix of cooked and continental breakfast served by a lovely team.

The property was clean. The rooms don’t have a fridge or coffee makers like in North America so keep that in mind. The reception desk was very helpful and nice.
