Very comfortable rooms with amazing ocean view. Trying to recover from chemo and was tough waiting for our room but hotel staff turned it around gave us a great room with incredible ocean view. Perfect experience after that with nice hotel staff the entire 10 days. Lovely experience sitting under their plumeria trees between the beach and pool. So quiet and peaceful. Sat on the beach and watched the stars every night. Exactly what I needed. Very kind housekeeping, restaurant staff etc. on their toes constantly and great service with beach towels. Staff was easily available for anything you need. Restaurant even chopped fruit for me. Easy parking for rental car. Close easy walking to restaurants and shopping. We would recommend to anyone. Older Hawaiian style compared to other hotels, but better outdoor experience with shade and lawn. You get to choose between shade or sun.

My husband and I had a top floor mountain view room. It was a beautiful view especially since the sun rises right over the mountain, and there was usually a full rainbow over it in the afternoons. The wall of windows that separate the patio from the living room complete folds back to bring the outside in! It was a lovely surprise. The only downside is that even though we weren't directly facing the construction (thank goodness!) we could always hear the work going on if we opened up the patio. I'm sure the ocean and courtyard view rooms are great because the hotel is beautifully landscaped, but I liked the privacy of the mountain view.
After some of the reviews I read, I was prepared to be disappointed by the beach, but it was great. Yes, it was rocky in parts, but there was a good amount of sand. You do have to keep an eye on where you place your feet and not kick too deeply. I only snorkeled, so it wasn't an issue. The snorkeling off the beach was better than the excursion we paid for! A rainbow of fish and a variety of sea urchins and coral.

This was our 2nd visit to the Villas. We came back, first, because it's pretty much in the perfect Kaanapali location and second, because we loved the apartment type accommodations and the generally 'less crowded feel of the hotel and grounds. Our room had a full kitchen, living, dining + separate bedroom with 2 king size beds + separated dressing and bath. The grounds sit directly behind a beautiful sandy beach... with a generally uncrowded grass area with trees and lounge chairs. Two pool areas, not overly fancy but both quite comfortable. The hotel staff, from the front desk to maintenance are all very courteous and helpful. The adjoining restaurant 'Castaways' (on the beach) is a nice place to eat (at a reasonable cost) or just sit at the bar and enjoy the ambiance. We would definitely stay at the Villas again.

We had booked this hotel but when we arrived we got upgraded to the Royal Lahaina Resort tower. The facilities are great and it is a beautiful area. We were very impressed.
We can't really say much about the Inn, but the resort was amazing. We loved walking on the beachwalk in the evening.

Layout of hotel was great, food @ breakfast and dinner was fantastic, valets very friendly & accommodating, & elevators were FAST (especially noticed since the ones at the 2nd hotel we staying in on a different island were so incredibly SLOW)

Kaanapali is a prime vantage point for viewing humpback whales, which swim by December to May. The town’s whaling history is displayed at Whaler’s Village, a shopping complex and museum. Visitors also can experience the area’s farming past by riding the Sugar Cane Train, a restored steam locomotive. Snorkelers and divers can enjoy the coral reefs and fish that thrive in nearby Black Rock Beach.
