"Basic hotel close to the airport. "
The hotel is dated, but there looked to be improvements going on. Comfortable room. Parking wasn't easy as the car park was often full.

"Always a Nice Stay Here"
We recently stayed here again as we were visiting friends and family on Maui. Although the hotel were updating the carpet and in the process of remodeling, the workers were considerate and quiet as mice. The hotel is older but clean. The staff is nice and friendly. We will stay here on future trips.

"Nice ocean-view from the hotel"
They initially put us in a terrible room in the cottages, but after we complained, they upgraded us to a room with a king-sized bed on the tenth floor, with an ocean view. The view was gorgeous every single day. Most of the room cleaners did an excellent job, but a few days they certainly missed a few things. Some of their furniture and appliances were visibly damaged (like some of the light fixture enclosures were clearly broken but not replaced), and paint was peeling in a number of places. All of the stores that were immediately accessible from the hotel were fairly expensive for most items, but there was a store within a 10 minute walk which was much more reasonable. The food at the hotel was very expensive, and room service had an 18% surcharge.

"Quiet and Beautiful Beach Resort"
We enjoyed our stay at Napili Kia. It has a close grocery store, great snorkel beach itself and an awesome one next door. I got to swim with the sea turtles, see many fish, a moray eel, and an octopus. It was really nice having the kitchen for a quick breakfast and for keeping drinks cold.

"Great for an extended stay"
We stayed on Maui for nine nights/ten days and couldn't have picked a better place to stay. Through Expedia, we got a reasonable price for hotel/flight/car rental bundle. And though we weren't sure what to expect regarding the cheaper priced "mountain view," we were not disappointed. I'd take the mountain view over the ocean or resort views any day. Absolutely beautiful! The resort's location is great. A few minutes drive north of Lahaina, where we visited multiple times. The amenities are nice. With in-room laundry, we were able to pack less. With a full kitchen, we were able to save money on food by buying groceries and cooking many of our meals (though we still wanted to try many restaurants.) There is a general store on the first floor of the tower we stayed in where I was able to get an iced coffee everyday. The three pool options are nice- there's one with a water slide, which is frequented by more kids. There's a "river" pool which is nice and quiet for the adults. And there's a bigger open pool where both adults and kids go. I was able to lay out and read my kindle at all three pools with no problem. The beach at the resort was great for snorkeling. Lots of colorful tropical fish to see! So cool! And not overcrowded! Though we went in mid-May. Overall, we agreed we'd come back to stay at Honua Kai the next time we're on Maui.

"Nice resort close to beach."
These are condos with full kitchens including refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, microwave, dishes, silverware, pots and pans, etc. It's right on the ocean, but the useable sandy beach is a hundred yards or so, away (no big deal).

"We enjoyed the location of the property. "
We enjoyed the hot tub and pool. Could use some music of some sort in the pool area. The Red phone was not working when we tried to check in. The fan in the bedroom was broke and stuck on low speed so was extremely hot. We heard different stories about being able to use the facilities across the street as were told by some people it was ok and others it was not. Need to have better office hours.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
