Stayed at this hotel for a basketball tournament at the PPG Arena. This hotel is right beside very little, but is very close and easy walk to the arena and to numerous downtown restaurants, bars, etc. It is also right across from a subway station for easy access. (We didn't take the opportunity to try the in-hotel bar/restaurant, but according to others is was pretty good).
The beds/rooms were super comfortable. If bathroom space is a priority, however, know that this is an older hotel, and the bathroom was very small and not up to par with newer hotels, comparably priced hotels. Bathroom aside, the hotel appears to have had a modern renovation and is very clean and very well maintained. I liked being able to open the windows, and the wifi was free and reasonably fast. Staff were all professional and courteous.
Parking tip: There is a parking deck directly across the street (Centre Ave) that cost us just $10 from Friday night to Sunday afternoon. There's another similarly priced deck a couple blocks away if that one is full.

Very nice room for the price! I only came in contact with 2 staff but they were pleasant. & the McDonald's breakfast vouchers were a nice touch. The only thing I would change is the bed pillows were pretty hard

We really enjoyed our trip to Erie. The staff at Solstice couldn't have been more helpful or friendly. However the hotel was in the middle of renovation so there was no breakfast, elevator or pool. We booked the hotel thinking we would have these amenities, pretty disappointed we didn't. We didn't know about the renovation till we got to the hotel to check in, really wish this information would have been available sooner to us.
We would book this hotel again, just as long as renovation is completed.

The hotel a little old but well maintained and clean. The staff is beyond accommodating. There is a shuttle service that takes you around local area but if not busy is willing to go outside the area.(picked me up at train station). The driver was willing to take me to CVS on way back on last run then circled the block until I was done. Only down side is the soap is very strongly scented and there is no breakfast which is unusual for a Quality Inn.

When I entered the hotel I was frazzled. A Pittsburgh man had just yelled at me for turning around in his parking lot despite the fact that I wasn't inconveniencing anyone. Way to welcome a tourist to the city, Pittsburgh. Then I was confused by the parking. Heads up, you MUST valet. Pull into the valet garage area and park at the valet station. So I was a little shook when I went to check in. The hotel staff was WONDERFUL. They dealt with my flubs, offered a shuttle to an event I was attending later, and truly could not have been nicer. Every hotel member I met, including the valet when I left, were extremely helpful and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable (even the baseboards in the bathroom - an often missed cleaning spot). I would definitely stay here again.

The housekeeping staff was friendly. The hotel shuttle was nice during bad weather. The things we didn't like were no fridge in the room. I have never stayed where there wasn't a mini fridge in the room. The hotel cost should have included a breakfast too.
