Four Seasons Gresham Palace

Széchenyi István tér 5-6, Budapest - Map
The Gresham was recommended to us by our travel agent and we couldn't be happier. It's a beautifully resorted palace. Artistic flair everywhere. The staff was incredibly helpful and polite. Daniel at the hotel bar was a fantastic mixologist. We will never stay anywhere else in Budapest. Treat yourself!

"Conveniently located to public transportation"
Elegance from years gone by. My overall rating would have been higher, if I overlooked the Danube. the buffet breakfast was excellent and the omelets were outstanding in quality and size. I wish they would have informed us that flip flops were required for the spa. The flip flop were low quality and cost 20+ euros. Seems there could have been a cheaper throw away version since they were required for access.

"Wonderful location for a beautiful city!"
Great holiday, apart from the rain (hey, what can you do?). Would recommend the hotel and the staff were incredibly helpful. When we were there, the reception area was undergoing an upgrade. Some guests saw this as an opportunity to have a moan and get some freebies but you can't expect a modern look without the occasional moments of modernisation! Overall, a really good holiday: the staff showed real patience with some of the 'awkward' guests and I was really impressed with their professionalism throughout.

"City centre break"
Short break with friends to Budapest recommended by my daughter. Very flat, only hill to the castle which can be reached by Hop on, Hop off bus or Funicular. Very vibrant city with lovely friendly people. Easy to access all attractions by foot, tram or underground. The Market Hall is spectacular with its displays of fruit and vegetables. It has stalls/cafes upstairs selling hot local food and snacks which are very cheap and delicious. We went to the famous Szechenyi Baths which was an enjoyable experience. Sat in steaming hot baths outside in the pouring rain! Many smaller pools indoors, sulphor, menthol, ice and sauna and steam rooms. Individual changing booths where you can leave all your belongings and are locked by attendant and unlocked on your return. Definitely recommend Budapest but not for young children.

"Hotel well situated"
Arrived - from the outside the boat looked well maintained. Receptionist professional yet friendly, reception area spotlessly clean Room 307 small but spotless with great views across the Danube to the Hungarian House of parliament (spectacular). Top deck great for relaxing, sun, views and watching the world go by Lounge bar not expensive and with fair selection of drinks and good service Breakfast - fine and acceptable but not outstanding. Staff great We have stayed at many top class hotels but this one has it's attractions equal to those.

Danube River is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Danube River, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Danube River hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
