"Close to Family and friends "
Considering they are upgrading this hotel it was quite pleasant. If you want a quiet room ask for the front near car park as the back is fairly noisy with cars going into Tesco which is nearby

"Nice hotel - but take a healthy credit card!"
The location is both beautiful and convenient being only a few minutes drive from both Henley and Marlow. The car park is a short walk from the main reception so drop your bags before you park or get valet parking. I stayed here the first time a number of years ago and the rooms now look a little tired. Our room was fairy small but comfortable. The food was excellent but very expensive as were the drinks. By the time we had dined (2 courses) with a pretty mediocre bottle of Malbec, our bill was heading towards £400 for a one night stay. There is a spa and fitness facility but this too can be very pricey. The hotel has a good reputation in a high net worth residential area and people are clearly prepared to pay the prices. Overall - A pleasant stay but not special enough to justify the cost.

"Excellent Hotel"
We stayed at this hotel for 2 weekend nights on a bed and breakfast basis. The hotel is located adjacent to the Reading football stadium with excellent parking facilities and next to the park and ride facility into Reading. We stayed at the hotel during a home match and the hotel is so well insulated that we did not have any disturbance from the match. The rooms are modern, clean, large and well appointed with free Wi-Fi. There is a fridge and tea/coffee making facilities. The bathroom had both a shower and bath. There is air con in the rooms so you can always get the room to your preferred temperature. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of both hot and cold food. The breakfast service was very well organised. The management had obviously put a lot of effort in to getting it right. Toast was delivered to our table so you are not queuing at one of those awful rotary toaster things. Fresh coffee delivered to your table in a flask so you don't have to try and find a member of staff for a refill. Food regularly refreshed to ensure that it is freshly cooked, fried eggs with soft yokes. You can even order special breakfast items like eggs benedict, scrambled egg with smoked salmon and bagels filled with smoked salmon and cream cheese at no extra cost. The delivery of these special order items was very quick. We could not find fault with any aspect of our stay and will definitely stay here again.

"Good location off M40 - with excellent food"
The hotel is just off the M40, with 'motel style' rooms around a court yard / garden at the rear of an older 'pub' that has been converted into a modern hotel / restaurant. The courtyard bedrooms are spacious, clean and comfortable - with some background traffic noise from the motorway - in an otherwise quiet rural location. The food in restaurant was excellent and modestly priced for the quality - well worth a visit.

Fantastic hotel. Clean and the staff were wonderful. Given the average price of the room. We couldn't really understand. Why they insist on charging an extra two pounds per person. To have a cooked breakfast rather than the continental breakfast included in the room rate.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
