"Nice but for front desk"
Loved the hotel. Very quiet easy to sleep very comfortable bed beautiful building inside and out. The front desk was no help. She was even absent during the day when we had questions. There was nothing in the room that explained time for check out, time for breakfast, etc.

Really nice place to stay. Staff was wonderful. Very quiet. We will stay here again. The breakfast was very good for a continental. Great selection and very well presented. Mel's Diner across the parking lot. Close to American River College. Very enjoyable stay.

"B & B In Downtown Sacramento"
First impression was not good at check in phase. Man/reception person not very welcoming. Walking upstairs carrying two luggage items and no assistance offered as being shown the room. What was that about? Breakfast very basic. Bread items to toast, juices, yogurt, coffee and tea. Coffee was good. Housekeeping does great job as room and bathroom very clean. Bed was very comfortable. No in room coffee service. A bit pricey for what you get, but downtown is not cheap. Street parking only and street traffic is heavy. Vintage property in area with beautiful old homes.

"Solid choice for the price"
We've stayed here multiple times. When Sac hotels are full and prices are stood high, the Vagabond remains reasonably priced. Clean and comfortable. New Kings arena is across the street and lots of bats and eateries nearby including OldSac.

I was very pleased with the location of the hotel, the lovely atmosphere, the beautifully appointed room and fabulous bath (with jacuzzi)!. The only disappointment was the breakfast. There was no one working in the dining area and breakfast was not provided, except for beverages and insufficient pastries. It looked as if someone was expected to be cooking, but after waiting awhile, other guests and I decided to leave.

    Explore Sacramento

California's State Capital may not have the same touristy sparkle as San Francisco or Los Angeles, but it has plenty of charm and history to make it worth your while. Old Sacramento is the heart of the action, with historic buildings and a scenic location on the Sacramento River.

In Old Sac, there are shops and restaurants to browse and riverboat tours to take. It’s also a 28-acre National Historic Landmark District and State Historic Park, and home to several museums. History buffs could spend days exploring the California State Railroad Museum, California Military Museum, Sacramento History Museum and Old Sacramento Schoolhouse Museum.

If you’re more into art than history, the Crocker Museum is just a short walk from Old Town. Even if you don't have business at the Capitol Building, take a free tour, stroll the grounds and check out the art collection that includes portraits of every California governor (including a couple of former movie stars you might recognize). Reward yourself with a cone from local favorite, Gunther’s Ice Cream.
