Rooms are spread out throughout property but they offer rides. Disappointed that there was only one spa. Happy hour at pool was great and all meals were very good. Took the beach shuttle and was very easy with kids. Will be back.

Quick overnight for work. Great beach location. A good hotel if you have a clear expectation. This is a good value if you can acquire a ocean view room for the price of a non ocean view room and are willing to give up the niceties of a business hotel for a beach town, surf spot atmosphere. Breakfast was unattended, and was packaged cereal and prepackaged pastries. Although adequate, it lacked presentation and service. The hotel restaurant was closed on a Tuesday night. The facility is an older architecture with a freshly remodeled face. The remodel was attractive, and partially made up for the age of the structure. Small details such as worn furniture, lack of readily available outlets, and overall hallway noise activity were detractors. However, the remodeled atmosphere was attractive, the room seemed secure, and about 1/3 of the rooms available had ocean views. I would stay here again for fun and leisure.

Newport Beach's affluent population frequents the three-mile-long Balboa Peninsula, home to a picturesque waterfront pavilion and the Balboa Fun Zone, an arcade with carnival rides, shops, restaurants, and the Newport Harbor Nautical Museum. Nearby Newport Pier includes the Dory Fishing Fleet and Fish Market, where fishermen sell their daily catch to the public each morning on the shore.
