"Beautiful adventure outside of Hilo"
If you are headed to the Hilo area, avoid the crowds of town and the hotel life. Instead, opt for an adventure outside of Keaau. This wonderful bed and breakfast provides all the amenities you need with a beautiful view of the ocean, a pool to swim in, and free breakfast. We stayed in the 2 bedroom cottage in the back when we were visiting UH-Hilo. It was less than a half hour drive into town and worth it. We only stayed for two nights, but will try to come back for longer next time. The property is beautifully maintained and Mary is very friendly as the proprietor. My daughters loved the drive to the B&B, which included a drive on a very hilly but smooth road. We were all laughing going up and down the little hills. It is quiet here, there is a few coqui frogs, but they didn't bother us at all, better than city sounds. Come and sit on the beautiful wrap around lanai and just look out to the ocean as the waves crash against the rocks. I would highly recommend this place over any Hilo hotel.

"Lovely Country B&B near Volcano park"
We stayed for 5 days at Volcano Acres & thoroughly enjoyed Theresa & Randy's hospitality. Our room was in a separate building(a remodeled barn) and all the comforts were at our fingertips: comfortable bed, clean bathroom with plush towels (& a towel warmer!), microwave, coffee maker, fridge. There was an attached sunroom with a sofa & table that looked out over the small duck/geese pond. The grounds were entertaining with Lucy the goat, Fawn the dog, sheep, chickens and a burro to pet & feed approved snacks. Breakfast was delicious with fresh tropical fruits, baked goods, make-your-own waffles & breakfast sandwiches. I can't speak highly enough of Theresa & Randy's expert knowledge of the Big Island & especially the Volcano area. We had our wedding anniversary while staying there & a chocolate cake appeared in our room that day in celebration. You should be aware that 1) there is a rooster on site so you may need earplugs for the early morning crowing. 2) as in many locations, there are water restrictions as Volcano has no municipal water & this part of the big island has been in a drought. It's not terrible; you're requested to be conscious of running water & the sheets & towels don't get changed unless requested. We didn't mind at all. We had a wonderful time in Volcano!

Keaau is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Keaau, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Keaau hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
