"Gorgeous location"
We enjoyed our stay at the Palms Cliff. It is a beautiful place. We loved walking around the grounds and seeing all the fruit trees. The morning sunrises are stunning. Bring your camera. The staff and owner were very kind and helpful, too.

This hotel was so much more enjoyable than a chain motel. The staff was friendly, pleasant and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable. I would stay there again and highly recommend it.

"Unique Hostel-type accommodation in Downtown Hilo"
This is an old inn with a lot of history. Don't expect an antiseptic environment though the communal , food areas and rooms are clean and free of bugs (but not tiny cute lizards in the lobby.).The lobby is charming, decorated in the style of old Hawaii. Breakfast is simple but good with delicious papaya, rice pudding, teacakes and coffee.Breads, instant oatmeal, tea are available.I really liked the open air community kitchen with fridge, cooking pots and utensils. One of the best memories I have is the wonderful fresh ahi from Suisan sliced sashimi style with fresh veggies from the farmer's market. A meal to compete with the best restaurant at a fraction of the cost of same in SF Rooms are small and spartan but do have small fridge, microwave, tv. Outside of each room on the lanai are a couple of chairs and small table. The gardens are beautiful with space for smokers and relaxing. Easy to walk to town for exploring.Available free parking at the Inn. Need it to get around larger Hilo and the environs. Be sure to swim with the Giant turtles at Carlsmith Beach and stroll in the beautiful parks in Hilo. Visiting other beaches and the volcano are a must for Hawaii visitors.

"Suite Room"
check in was easy and dad took great care of us. Beautiful view from suite and for us it was nice. Suite compared to rest of rooms but dont expect your regular suite. Large room, refrig, microwave, older room with character we liked but not for everyone. No a/c but you dont need windows open and great breeze with fan will have you searching for covers by daylight. We enjoyed the place but could pressure wash deck and give coffee. No breakfast (we knew this) but coffee was instant although there was a coffee maker. We bought coffee and filters and used coffee maker. Need more than a cup of instant in the morning. We left coffee supplies for the next occupant. Overall we enjoyed the place as we like older homes with character.

"Terrific B&B in an ideal location in old Hilo town"
Matthew and Danny have done a great job of remodeling an old plantation style house in Hilo. The rooms have been fixed up with local themes like the Michner room; our favorite, and Matthew's breakfast's are unbelievable! You are within easy walking distance of numerous restaurants, the Hilo market, beach shopping, the Lyman and Tsunami museum's (both must sees), and only 45 minutes to Volcano Nat'l Park. If you don't feel like eating out, you have full use of the kitchen, gas grill and nice deck to enjoy. When we went up to the park, Matthew even loaned us a cooler so we could stay well past dark to see the caldera...all in all an outstanding place to stay if you go to the Hilo area.

Honomu is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Honomu, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Honomu hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
