"Not awful but could be a lot better"
Some parts of the hotel are lovely especially the gardens but some parts are tatty and need improving or refurbishing. We liked the bedroom with its colourful finish and character wall of stripes but there was a lot of wear visible and some unpleasant looking stains on the side if the bed. However the sheets and pillowcases seemed new and crisp. The bar area was nice and quite busy with lots of people who seemed to be non residents. They had an unfortunate problem on Sunday morning with lack of hot water for a few hours and although it was one of those things they could have dealt with it better and informed guests what was going on instead of waiting for people to turn up at reception to find out what was wrong. The reception staff seemed totally overwhelmed and unable to deal with complaints.

"hope street hotel. "
We booked a suite for a treat. The room was good but the view wasn't great. Loads of dust in the beams and dirty windows. Went to bed only to be disturbed by a loud droning noise. We called down to reception and we're quickly upgraded to the penthouse suite. Great views and all round lovely suite. Decking in need of some repair but those views were fabulous! It's always worth complaining folks!

Nice Hotel, well maintained excellent sized room. Not far from Bolesworth Castle. Oscars was the hotel restaurant. Food was OK but the service was slow. Offered a 3 course "Menu of the Day" as well as the A La Carte. Rate included breakfast, good breakfast buffet selection.

"A Fabulous Hotel"
I cannot rate this hotel highly enough! All the staff were friendly and couldn't have done more to help. In particular, Emily and Darcy who warmly welcomed us on our arrival in the Brassery, Megan on Reception, also Abby and Lisa who along with colleagues were most attentive at breakfast and whenever we needed anything. The food was superb, the best poached eggs, in fact all the meals were fabulous, including sandwiches in the Brassery...mmmm! Our room number 10 gave a good view of the sea and the golf course, was spotless and well appointed with luxurious cotton bedding, comfy mattress and good quality fixtures and fittings. The room was not huge but perfectly adequate for our needs.

"Chester is lovely"
Chester is a lovely historic city. The hotel is a bit odd as it's modern and built on top of a car park, a bit of an eyesore from the outside. Inside is great, the rooms are nice, relatively large and very comfortable. Ironically there was no space in the car park which seems to be a perennial problem, nearly every time we went past the car park there were people being told there was no space. However we parked around the corner in the Market car park and that probably worked out cheaper (I really don't like hotels that charge me for parking when I'm staying there anyway). Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would recommend to anyone.

"Beautiful hotel. Room was just a little too hot!"
Sven and Gary are the nicest staff we ever had the pleasure of meeting at a hotel. Sven absolutely made it from start to finish and Gary was a gem helping us to the car at the end of our trip. Sven could not do enough for ys throughout the stay and the bar staff were wonderful too! They al contribute to a definite return visit int he future. The place is beautiful but staff like this make it memorable and special. I was treating my mum to a spa weekend after a tough year and this was just perfect!

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Gwernymynydd hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
