Lovely hotel. Good pool, nice sauna, reasonable food, nice wine. Service a bit slow, though staff numbers low due to of season. Beautiful location. Highly recommended

"Like A Boss"
A very pretty, quaint little B&B nestled within the beautiful Snowdonia NP, literally on the edge of the brilliantly located Betws-y-Coed. Clean room and bathroom, a comfy bed, thoughtful additional amenities (such as a hot water-bottle and welcome pack that included simple expressions in Welsh) and friendly hosts (including Janet, who loves Bruce Springsteen as much as I do!)

"Brilliant hotel within the walls of Caernafon"
I regularly visit the area for business and leisure. The Black Boy meets my expectations eveytime. Hotel/main area is fine if I am visiting for just a night or so, and by myself, but If I am having a longer stay (with the other half), then staying in Blackjacks - suites (including kitchen) around the back is very practical. The same applies for Ty Dre Town House (part of the same hotel) which has suites/kitchen areas.

"University residence close to the city centre"
Stayed for three nights so I could go walking in Snowdonia while my wife was on a course at the University. Pros The accommodation is clean, well maintained and furnished to a similar standard as a Premier Inn. Friendly and helpful staff. A comfortable bar area and restaurant on site that served a good buffet breakfast. Parking on site and close to the city and University. The Pontio Centre at the University a short walk away has a good reasonably priced bar, food and entertainment. Cons The double rooms are very small for two people. There is a small wardrobe, desk and a chair with not much space to put bags/clothes if you are staying more than one night. This is university accommodation primarily for courses at the business centre, other guests are there to fill spare capacity and the University has first call on facilities. The bar is billed as for a business group and may be closed to guests for private events. The restaurant may be closed for events and coffee shop is not open weekends. If you don't need to be in the centre of Bangor you will probably find better facilities significantly cheaper just out of town.

"Perfect quiet location "
A very warm welcome from host on arrival. We stayed in room 7 which was extremely comfortable with a six foot bed, excellent en suite. Views over Llandudno, estuary and sea. Breakfast set you up for the day served by very helpful staff. Our stay was from 11th to 13th November, we would definitely choose to stay here again when in this area. We enjoyed eating at the Seahorse restaurant both evenings. We ate in the bistro which was very friendly and cosy. The food was cooked to perfection by the chef/owner who found time to speak to the diners. The bonus was it was only a 7 minute walk from accommodation. Sandra & Steve Head

North Wales is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in North Wales, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your North Wales hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
