The hotel location is excellent. It's next to the train station, just a 5 minutes walk. The Gornegrat Train station is just next to hotel. There are Coop supermarket just a 5 minutes walk away and lots of restaurants nearby.
Check in was very smooth, the reception was waiting for us and our room was ready. We were inform by the hotel of all the attraction around the area.
The room was exceptionally clean with coffee making facilities. There were quality sleeper and bathrobe. The water pressure and hot water was very good. Only thing is there is no separate bath and shower. Bed was very comfortable and of high quality.
The buffet breakfast was good and has an excellent varieties of tea.

we stayed here for 2 days as a family vacation. our room is clean and spacious, and has large windows to balcony so that it can take in good portion of fresh cool air, which is good for summer time visitor. breakfast is good -- you can even make your own egg and pan cakes. there is a supermarket on the ground floor so that you can buy anything you need easily but the shop (like every other shop in zermatt) closes at about 7pm.

It is difficult to image a better view than we had from our room. Early mornings and evenings on our balcony were an absolute pleasure, it felt like we could almost touch the Eiger. Even the magnificent view from the terrace didn't quite match the view from our room. In fact when whenever we took a stroll through the village we took note of the ever changing panorama and we still think ours view was best. Excellent breakfast. When we chose to take dinner in the hotel this was also excellent, and there are plenty of options for eating out in Grindelwald. Dining service friendly and efficient without being intrusive. Assistance at reception was generally, but not always, very good.
The only adverse comment is that the hotel and room appeared to lack air-con which would have been a big help as the weather was unseasonably warm.
If we return to Grindelwald we would certainly consider staying at Spinne again.
