"Great Hotel, Great Beach, and Great Food"
We decided to do a short, hot trip to get away for a few days. After doing some research I decided to book at the Sandals Whithouse. We had previously been to the Sandals Antigua and had a very good experience. This hotel did not disappoint. Although it is an hour and a half drive from the airport it is worth it to be nice and secluded and away from any other resort. The beach was great and we spent most of our time just relaxing there. We managed to go to each restaurant (nice to have a variety) and enjoyed our meals and drinks at all of them. It was definitely sad to leave.

"Idlers Rest-a peaceful Jamaican hotel"
The hotel really looks like the pictures posted. The staff are kind and welcoming, happy to share their island and knowledge with you. The water is calm and warm-no big rocks and we experienced little plant life. The beach was raked every morning. The food was delicious, and they altered their regular eggs for our son. The kitchen staff quickly learned our preferences. Also, breakfast on the Caribbean every morning!! The manager came looking for us when we got caught in a rain storm one evening! This is not an American hotel, so if you are looking for that, you would be disappointed. However, if you want to experience rural Jamaican life, this is the place. Wifi is not available in the rooms and it is spotty, but I had a stunning patio to email friends from. Towels are thin but clean. Beds are comfortable and the room was clean. The beach would benefit from lounge chairs, but they provided beach towels. Not many right angles in this hotel and it is a bit rough, by North American standards, but it is charming. It is very quiet, we were the only guests for the first 2 nights. It is in the middle of the country, you will need a car or a driver. The hotel arranged a great driver, David-highly recommend him. He stopped in the Middle Quarters for Pepper Shrimp, fish from a road side stand on the way to Negril, fresh coconut on the way to YS Falls, and many jerk places. We never would have stopped at these places on our own. If you want to visit a quiet, non-aggressive Jamaica.

"Nice with beautiful scenery "
The grounds was beautiful & well kept. Staff was very pleasant and friendly. Our room (the cottage ) had alot of issues (electronic lock did not work, fridge did not work initially, wifi/tv did not work). Staff was very responsive to our complaints and tried their best to resolve them.

"Lovely peaceful, location on the sea coast"
Book this villa last minute because as we arrived in Jamaica I received a message that our booking with a different in st Elizabeth was cancelled. We needed to to stay in st Elizabeth so we were near family. This villa was a little further away from family but it was a lovely place to stay. This accommodation fitted all are needs. Rooms cleaned daily and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the staff always went out of their way to ensure my mum was helped as she is disabled. The food is the restaurant was very nice freshly caught fish with rice & peas would definitely order again & again. Only comment I can make about improvement to this accommodation is that the lounge could do with a fan because the room where the TVs is was uncomfortably hot especially for my baby to stay in that room. On the last night we requested a fan and one was kindly bought to us and made a huge difference only wished we asking earlier.

Black River is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Black River, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Black River hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
