The location was amazing. It is right in the middle of stores, bars and restaurants. Very convenient and was also safe because they check key cards at night..

"Easy walk downtown"
We had a delightful stay in Santa Barbara. The White Jasmine Inn is close to downtown, the SB market, and many restaurants. The manager's voice and mannerisms reminded us of Christopher Walken.

"Terrible renovation noise, small room "
Love Kimpton hotels and in general love Hotel Indigo but I was woken up by several workers outside my window and on the roof before 7 am. It was a very tiny room, but that wasn't necessarily a detracting factor, I didn't need space. I was not thrilled about the noise and wish I had been warned - I wouldn't have stayed there if I'd known. But very clean and very nice, maybe another time would have been 4-5 stars.

"Walking distance to beach"
Nice hotel right off of 101. Extremely nice was a bottle of Champagne in the refrigerator. And a bucket and two wine glasses!! Never had that before. They also had a wine and cheese hour. Very good. Staff was very helpful. Heated nice pool. Nice shops on state street, close, can walk it. The only negative was the bathroom and room off the bathroom was next to another hotels parking lot. They did have a pocket door to close between the bedroom so it was ok. older room. Many steps but very nice.

"Quiet, comfortable and great location"
When we arrived,we were checked in by a very nice person. After directing us to our room on the facility map, he took a map of Santa Barbara and circled a number of things he liked to do close to the hotel. He even pointed out the parking areas downtown, and that came in very handy as we drove around town. We took his advice with a number of places to eat and to visit during our stay; they were all great. Each day in late afternoon, they have a wine and cheese get-together. In early evening, this turns into cookies and milk. Both were a lot of fun, and a good time to mingle with some of the other tenants. The first evening we were there, we walked down to the beach and took some pictures of the sun setting over the pier. We also stopped in at a restaurant right there and had a wonderful dinner. We were told by a number of people that it is safe to walk that area at night, and we certainly concur. This was a good way to unwind from the day's drive to Santa Barbara and to introduce us to the area in anticipation of the rest of our stay.

Lavender Inn by the Sea

"Perfect location; comfortable accommodations."
This was truly an exceptional place to stay! To be honest, in all of the hotels I've experienced, this was by far the best, and the most memorable. The hotel itself is a quaint, smaller, privately owned hotel, so that means more personalized attention to detail, more character, and genuinely nice staff. The room had a charming Victorian d├ęcor, and the bed was beyond comfortable! Right down to the feather pillows! The location provided easy walking access to the beach, Stearn's Wharf, as well as plenty of shopping and fine dining options. And! The onramp to the highway(101 North and South) was just a block or two away. The hotel offered a free breakfast, and had wonderful options to please even the most finicky guest. They offered wine and cheese in the afternoon, as well as cookies and milk in the evening. I will return to Santa Barbara IF ONLY to stay here again. It made the trip so very special, relaxing, and downright enjoyable! The hot tub and pool were an especially nice addition, and were both open, even though my visit took place in January. A beautiful and enchanting place to stay.

"Small, Quaint Santa Barbara Hotel"
We travel to SB 3-4 times a year and have stayed at all of the 5 star hotels and many of the 4 star resorts as well. We discovered the Eagle Inn about 2 years ago and it is our first pick now. The reasons are simple...location and the size of the rooms. We usually get a casita which has lots of space, hardwood floors and nice patios to sit and enjoy the beautiful weather. No parking fees, no resort fees and a nice breakfast included in your rate.
