The hotel had a good view across the city, and the air conditioning worked very well. Unfortunately, those were the main positives of our stay. The room felt dated and did not have a fridge. There were large gaps around the door, which allowed a lot of light in from the corridor, so we had to stuff towels around it at night. The electricity slot for the key card was also extremely temperamental. The bed dipped badly in the middle, meaning we both kept rolling towards the centre during the night. The television only had a handful of channels. It suggested that we could stream from an iPad using an app, but despite several attempts, we could not get this to work. We also felt uncomfortable when we arrived because there were homeless people in the hotel car park. Partway through our stay, the cleaners removed our additional key card from the room, which was frustrating and should not have happened. The hotel restaurant was very expensive, particularly when there are four or five takeaways literally outside the front entrance offering much better value. Overall, the good city view and excellent air conditioning did not make up for the uncomfortable bed, dated facilities and numerous other problems.

Lovely friendly and welcoming staff, room was lovely and we had a great stay, thank you (Only side note shower in Monarch room was a bit rubbish)
