The property does not have air conditioning, there are no phones in the rooms so if you have an issue or need something, you have to see someone at the desk. There were no washcloths in the bathroom. The beds were hard.

I would describe the stay as travelodge level rooms- fairly basic. Probably a 2-3 star stat. Standard of cleanliness isn’t great- the room had a faint smell of damp or urines. Easy check in with help on hand, room was nice, comfortable and had a great TV. Dinner was fine, bar staff friendly and breakfast perfect. Car park gets busy with Gym users, but found a space easily enough.

Old Thorns Hotel & Resort
Spa was amazing, I had a back massage which was so nice. The rooms could do with a bit of a touch up as some of the decor is bit tired now. Also Air conditioning would be a benefit we did have a fan but the room was so hot.

we really enjoyed this hotel. They had an a spa that was included that had a steam room, sauna hot tub and a pool. We missed the Michelin star restaurant but the other restaurant on the sixth floor was also very good. Very spacious rooms with good views of the harbor we would go back to this hotel ...

Starting with the staff, they were friendly and lovely when checking in. The room was a great size, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was fantastic and so much to choose from. I wish I had stayed one more day to taste everything. I will definitely come back next time I'm in Southampton.

Holiday Inn Express Portsmouth - Gunwharf Quays by IHG
Excellent location. Parking in underground car park good and inexpensive. Staff were very helpful. The Air conditioning was not functioning however was being repaired. As the weather wasn’t too bad this was not an issue during our stay.
