The confirmation process was complicated by the fact that several steps were required to finalize the contract. The room we got was not what I believed I requested but GlobalStay, the management firm would not provide any proof that I had mistakenly ordered the wrong room. Nor would they offer any option to correct the issue. The parking space that we were told to use was occupied by another vehicle. As requested by GlobalStay I provided photo evidence and a photo of where I ended up parking so GlobalStay could inform building management. They did not do so. Consequently my vehicle was ticketed for $150 dollars in fines. I would avoid GlobalStay if possible.

My husband and I recently stayed at 1 Hotel Toronto for a one-night getaway from our kids, and while the hotel itself is beautiful and very clean, our overall experience was disappointing. I booked the Skyline View Suite based on the photos advertised. Unfortunately, the room we received did not match the photos. It was missing features shown online, including the desk, and the "skyline view" was quite misleading. Only about a quarter of the view actually overlooked the skyline, while the rest looked out onto the rooftops of older buildings. Considering the premium price of the suite, this was disappointing. The biggest letdown, however, was the rooftop pool experience. One of the main reasons we chose this hotel was to relax by the pool and enjoy a day in the sun. When we went up to the rooftop, there were empty lounge chairs available, but we were told we couldn't use them because they were reserved for guests on a waiting list. We were actually asked to get up from the chairs and told we could "try again tomorrow morning." Since we were only staying for one night, that wasn't a realistic option and it completely changed the experience we had hoped for. I want to mention that the hotel was exceptionally clean, and the property itself is beautiful. However, between the misleading room photos and the inability to enjoy one of the hotel's main amenities despite being a paying guest, our stay didn't feel like the relaxing getaway we had planned. Watch out for messages after you book, where you provide your ID and a selfie, pay for parking and the deposit. And they aren’t very responsive or explanatory, and clearly have seen all kinds of shenanigans. Once you get past all that, it’s fabulous. You can’t beat the view. Location is great too, parking is convenient, and there’s a Nando’s downstairs.

Very poor communication. All the links they sent looked like a scam. The phone number available does not work. The room was okay but the bed was so big that the door couldn’t close. Spend you money elsewhere. Chelsea hotel is up the street and I had a much better stay there 1 month ago

The check in process was horrible. This is someone’s apartment, not a hotel. The air conditioning was broken and nobody knew what was going on at the front desk. The host is extremely difficult to get a hold of and all contact numbers provided are out of service. I was also charged an extra $300 in additional payments just to check in. I have not received my deposit back either.

Amazing value for the price, great location and host was super amazing!

It was great really. I have a thing about hair and unfortunately I did happen to come across some but it’s probably more of a me thing so it’s excusable. Would I stay again? Absolutely! Easy drive, close to all the things I like to do. Clean and the staff were lovely.
