Always been a default option for regular trips. Affordable, clean, unpretentious and uncomplicated. That was the case up until this visit. Room was okay but very cold. Bathroom faucet was missing a cap on one side and baseboards showed signs of mildew. First time being disappointed. Biggest issue was wi-fi, critical if travelling on business. I was constantly getting kicked off the wi-fi. Finally gave up and did all of my work from my smartphone. Very disappointing. Hoping that it was just an off day for a place I've always felt comfortable booking.

This hotel exceeded our expectations, primarily because of the exceptional staff. This team goes out of their way to take care of visitors and by team I mean everyone from the desk staff to the breakfast servers. One of the staff even ran outside while we were waiting for a bus to let us know that we were on the wrong side of the street. The rooms are not huge but very comfortable and fully furnished. They have a really nice terrace with a view of the area and at night they build a pit fire and provide marshmallows for roasting. It's a cool place to enjoy a glass of wine in the evenings. We would definitely stay here again!

The bathroom sink drain was really slow. There was an issue with the automatic wine dispenser but they refunded the money that was due so no loss just the hassle. Rooms are comfortable. Close to restaurants and tourist attractions of the old city. They also have a discount card to save 15% at some local restos.

The hotel is very nice. It is a romantic place, one of those old-time Quebec mansions. Our room was very spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was good.
The location is very convenient if you are exploring the city: the beautiful and grand city park Plains of Abraham is just behind the hotel. Also very close : Quebec's Grand Theater and the restaurant district. The Old Quebec is within a 10-minute walk.
One oddity about this hotel: it's owners encourage their guests to take off their shoes immediately after entering the front doors. This is very odd and inconvenient. The house slippers are provided at the front entrance and next to each room's door. However these are all in small sizes, and so one person in our party, with show size 14 had to visit the breakfast room in his socks every morning. Embarrassment should not be part of the guest experience.
If you visit in winter, be careful about ice in the back yard (aka parking) : it does not get removed.

All of the staff were super sweet and accommodating. One in particular went above and beyond when helping us with a situation. We even came back to some treats in our room with a hand written note. Best part was floating in the pool that was warm as bath water while it was about 15 degrees outside! The hotel has indoor parking (for a small fee) and is close to everything you could want to visit. The view was gorgeous, the room was amazing and the staff was wonderful. Definitely will be staying here again on our next trip up to Quebec!

Upper Town, located mostly within the walls of Old Quebec, occupies the crest of Cap Diamant and overlooks the Saint Lawrence River. Most buildings are at least 100 years old and made of granite in similar styles. Great Lakes freighters and ferries can be seen from Terrasse Dufferin, a pedestrian promenade. Other Upper Town attractions include Château Frontenac and Place d'Armes.
