Good location with access to Old Quebec. The hotel itself is updated in public areas and you can pay more to get an updated room. The staffing levels seem low at the front desk and valet area. Long waits to talk to someone in that space when you need assistance.

Wonderful Place to Stay

This hotel is in the perfect place. It is an easy walk to Old Quebec. Half a block from it they close the street and their are many great restaurants with seating inside and out.

We stayed at the Chateau Laurier for 1 night with our 2 month old and dog. First, we selected this hotel as it was labeled as dog friendly hotel, however we were asked to call the hotel after the reservation to make sure they had rooms available to accommodate our dog. The receptionist was extremely rude when I called her and said there was no more rooms that accommodate dogs, she told me there was nothing she could do. I then contacted the hotels.com support team and they were able to find a room for us. We knew we had to pay a 50$ fee for our dog, but I was disappointed when i entered the room since there was no bed or bowls for our dog, at the Alt Québec hotel, the fee you pay includes those elements. We also specified we had a baby with us and there was no crib in the room, again at the Alt Québec a little crib was waiting for us. The room was spacious with and clean but it lacked personality. I think you pay for the placement of the hotel.

The location is absolutely amazing—everything is within walking distance, including Old Quebec, historic landmarks, and countless incredible restaurants. Whether you're in the mood for French cuisine, seafood, or something more casual, you’ll find it just steps away. The hotel is clean, comfortable, and full of charm, with friendly staff and great amenities like a pool, hot tubs, and a fitness centre. It’s the ideal spot for exploring the city on foot and enjoying everything Quebec has to offer. I would highly recommend people to stay here!
