Employees at desk was unwilling to change out single room to a double. Said I need to cancel my expedia reservation and rebook with them. This would have incurred penalty charges and higher rates. hotel should be flexible to adapt to changes since this is low season and I Was willing to pay difference for the additional bed. Hotel was comfortable. Breakfast selection could improve tho.

"close to everything"
Was in Quebec for an escape weekend, close to the old town and all the cultural activities. All kinds of restaurant and we specially licked the revolving restaurant/Bar of the hotel. Went for a night cap with a 360 view of Quebec. was a little disappointed by having to park two blocks from the hotel , everything else was great.

"Family Hotel, not 4 star."
This was our second trip to L'Hotel Quebec. The children wanted to return, as they had enjoyed it so much the first time. Stayed from Friday evening to Sunday midday. Room was not quite as booked, but could've been overlooked if not for the other problems. The hot tub was at best warm, when hotel staff was notified they promptly sent someone to inform me that the temperature was a perfect 31 celsius, Hot tub temp should be about 40. Dinner buffet was very lacking for ninety bucks (2 adults, 2 children). The breakfast buffet similarly. The window in the room was broken and would not close properly. However, the room was clean. The garden furniture style chair was not comfortable. The live show on friday night was cancelled 5 minutes before start. But the magician was entertaining for the kids. The children did of course enjoy the pool in its awe inspiring garden setting. As they also enjoyed the indoor park and the small arcade. I would of course return hoping to have a better experience next time.

"Problem with beatles in the room. "
Overall ok. However had a beatle problem in the room. Stay three nights and complained each morning. Response: « oh that is not normal. We will have your room cleaned ». At check out, there was no « we are regretful for the beatle problem ».

"Deceptively lovely and comfortable "
This hotel is deceptive from the outside. It looks like any non-descript garden style hotel, but once you get inside the decor and details are European chic. Our room (Expedia gave us an upgrade!) was small, but had all the comforta we needed and a lot we did’nt even use. My wife (and I) fell in love with the bed - thinking about emailing/calling to find thw source. The duvet was perfect for the winter chill as theroom was set to 69F. The hotel restaurant, Le Galopin, is among the best I’ve experienced at any type hotel - I believe it is French-Canadian. The menu was very extensive and the wine/liquor offerings just as. The staff were attentive, prompt and cheerful. If the patronage of the reataurant is any indication of its standing, this restaurant is very popular.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
