"Close but just not quite right."
Check-in staff convinced I had not pre-paid through Expedia. I was told they "don't do this kind of thing!" Only upon checkout was it explained that though I had paid, Expedia don't pay them until after checkout. No apology received. Waitress lovely but chef did not know his own menu and kept missing items off which made the food quite bland - Posh Fish & Chips with no lemon mayonnaise became simply Fish & Chips. 3 scoop Ice Cream promised as Vanilla, Strawberry and cherry with fruit compote arrived as 2 scoops of vanilla and one of mint without fruit compote, which would never have gone with mint anyway. Room was lovely, although we had upgraded. Complementary e-mail did not work second night of two - was it a coincidence that a senior Scottish politician was also staying at the hotel? Could it be that his e-mail security was deemed more important than everyone else in the hotel put together?!

"Nice location, but noisy gulls at night."
Room was a bit stuffy so I slept with the window open. Seagulls were incredibly loud all night long, even with window shut. Other than that, the hotel was great.

"Nice hotel if you can find it........"
Got a good deal at the last minute for an overnight stay in Aviemore. First issue I had was that I would be arriving after dark and I had never been to the hotel or resort before. Why is this a problem? Well, upon driving into the resort I noticed that the road signs were unlit so I couldn't see directions to the hotel. Also when I stopped to see the signs that were there it still wasn't obvious where my hotel was! Eventually found it only to discover it closed! Tried phoning the contact number from Expedia which didn't work. Found the resort number on line and was told I was booked into a different hotel in the resort (which was also difficult to find due to lighting/signage/one way system issues). Hotel check in was fine and room itself was very nice. Down to on-site restaurant for an evening meal which was nice but expensive. Service was slow so be prepared to wait a while. As a price reference a bottle of Bulmer cider was £5.00. Next morning had a good breakfast from a substantial hot and cold buffet service. Even got gluten free toast! Check out was quick due to having no additional costs although the receipt I got indicated a total cost £20.00 less than the Expedia charge. Queried this to be told by the receptionist that the £20.00 must be the Expedia fee. Unsure if this is true but don't remember having this issue before. Overall a nice hotel but difficult to navigate resort and restaurant is expensive.

Arrived to be told only room left on second floor up 43 stairs. No lift Hot - no air con and kept hitting head on eves which sloped into room in roof. Staff very helpful however . Ensure ground floor or first floor if you stay . Disconcerting fire exit only front door and no fire extinguishers on landings.

"1 night in Inverness"
Stayed at this hotel after a mix-up with a reservation somewhere else. The hotel is quite nice but definitely not worth the 184 pounds per night we paid. Great dinner at the restaurant and the staff are super. Especially the spanish girl at the reception was very polite, friendly, and helpful. There is a nice bar at the restaurant but we haven't tried it. Overall, a great hotel within close walking distance to the center of the city and with easy car access to Loch Ness and the surrounding area.

Scottish Highlands is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Scottish Highlands, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Scottish Highlands hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
