"Attending to family business in Anacortes"
My wife and I needed a place to stay in Anacortes while we tended to family matters in the area. Every other place in the area was booked...and I do mean every other lodging option. The Majestic wasn't my first choice but we were very pleasantly surprised at the quality of the hotel and the room. While a tad spendy, the accommodations are worth it and the staff extremely friendly. There are eating and beverage options in the hotel as well as within walking distance.

Deer Harbor Inn

"Cozy, efficient, a little worn, but comfortable."
In a lovely location on the west side of Orcas Island, Deer Harbor Inn offers a comfortable, if slightly worn, cabin-like ambiance...their restaurant is known around the island as a good place for family-style dining. If you're looking for high-end amenities in a magazine-worthy setting, this is not the place. Instead it offers a more rustic, low-maintenance "family vacation house" vibe, with plenty of well-worn mismatched furniture and supplies to "last the summer"... cozy and comfortable, if occasionally a little shabby. The check-in/check-out is efficient but a little impersonal: you simply enter the tiny office, grab your little white bag with key and minor written instructions, then you're on your own. Appreciated, if you happen to be running late, but there is a sense that not having any contact with personnel makes it a tad, well, impersonal! At check-out you leave your key in a box by the door, which, again, is efficient, but a connection to those running the place would have been nice. Being as "on our own" as that introduction suggests, we did appreciate the ample supplies left in our lodge -- towels, toilet paper, iron, microwave, etc. -- making anything we needed easily found and right at our fingertips. The rooms were clean and well-stocked, and when it was discovered that our TV did not work, we were able to get it fixed within 24-hours. All-in-all, a decent mid-level inn with thoughtful concern for most needs.

"Like Home away from home"
We spent just one night here. It was very comfortable. All the staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable about Friday Harbor. They delivered breakfast to our room. Which was great. When we checked in there were cookies for us to eat. There was coffee, tea, milk and juice in the cupboard and the refrigerator. So nice to have those little extras. The breakfast was wonderful. Not what you usually find in hotels that offer breakfast(cereal, waffles etc.). It was only a few blocks from town. So it was nice that we could walk all around town and still be close. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

" Nice surprise in Anacortes "
While it is deceiving from the exterior, the room was well appointed, clean, and the breakfast was full of good quality alternatives. I recommend the Sunrise if you are staying in Anacortes. It is a pretty good location with several restaurants or cafes nearby, though it is about a mile to downtown. We stayed in their newer building across from the office. There was ample parking and an interior hallway. R street is a bit busy, but the room is quiet overall, we did not hear our neighbors. It is reasonably priced and we would stay there again.

"Uptown location with a pool."
We were staying in Anacortes but traveling back and forth to Mount Vernon so the uptown location of this motel worked for us. We liked the layout of the room. It didn't feel crowded. There was a good fridge, microwave and coffee maker. There was plenty of counter space around the sink which is a must. We also had a small table and 2 chairs. The TV was a nice flat screen and big enough to see from across the room. The heater/air conditioner was efficient, easy to set and not too noisy. We were on the ground floor near the office and pool and it was a pretty good pool for the amount of space available. It felt great on a hot afternoon! There was a bit of wear and tear in the bathroom but a decent shower, a window that opened for ventilation and a water shield on the tub so the floor wasn't wet. Finally a motel that gets that. Our room was missing the stopper in the sink. I was afraid I would drop something down the drain. Hopefully the other rooms had stoppers. One of our 2 beds had squeaky springs so we used the quiet one. There is no breakfast at this motel. There is food available nearby but we had to drive to get breakfast. The location is quite a few blocks from downtown or the boat moorage part of the waterfront--not a covenient walking distance. The staff was very professional and friendly.

Orcas is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Orcas, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Orcas hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
