"Lovely hotel near to the Lake District"
We went to this hotel for my husbands birthday and they made us extremely welcome. The room was lovely with extensive views across the valley and the bed was so comfortable we nearly slept in past breakfast. It was a good job that we made it to breakfast because it was all freshly cooked, no queuing up for an overcooked buffet breakfast here.

"Three Days of Chrismas"
We arrived at The Damson Dene Hotel as it was getting dark on Christmas Eve, we were directed to the overflow car park. On entering the hotel and the warm and welcoming lounge and reception area with its open fire and a miriad of Christmas trees our check in was smooth and organised. Our cases were taken to room 8 which was well appointed with all you would need, the bathroom was small but functional always with hot water. Christmas Day started with a hearty breakfast with plenty of choice of either light or cooked breakfast available with fruit juices and a choice fruit and cereals. Christmas lunch was served at 1.00 prompt, this was a five course meal with several choices or starter, main, and pudding courses. This was a exellent meal well cooked well presented and served by plesent and polite staff. My husband ate again at around 6.00 l didn't need to, he said there was lots of choice of cold cut meats salad and fruit. Boxing Day was a little less attended, but the food stranded remained high. After breakfast on the 27th we took our leave from the Damson Dene Hotel having had a lovely Christmas in lovely surroundings and with staff and management leaving a lasting impression on us.

"An altogether fantastic experience."
The owners and staff were brilliant. We arrived at almost midnight the first night and they ensured someone stayed behind to await our arrival who welcomed us warmly. The accommodation by far exceeded our expectations as we'd booked a double bed with a double sofa bed for our two boys, aged 11 & 9. Instead we were shown into a two bedroom apartment! Kitchen area didn't have a cooker but we hadn't planned on any cooking anyway! Kettle, toaster, iron & board all available and a bonus was each bedroom also had their own TV. We had a bit of a holiday disaster when our 11 year old broke his arm playing football at the nearby park. The staff were immediately on hand to provide first aid before we took him to hospital where an X-ray confirmed the break. The remainder of the holiday saw him being treated as the local hero by staff - he'd saved the penalty that broke his arm! There were extra of his favourite biscuits replenished daily! We only dined in the evening there twice but everyone enjoyed the food. Would definitely recommend the Moroccan lamb! Lots to see and do close by and definitely plan to return. Hopefully we'll get to do the cycling and hiking next time!

"Lovely inn hotel. "
Stopped on 14th may 2016. The girl who greeted us and served breakfast the next morning was excellent. The food we had at night was great and the breakfast was spot on. Lovely location. The bar bit is about as perfect looking as youd get a pub. The bathroom in our room was 'retro' but we quite liked talking about it and what colour we had in the 90s lol. The bedrooms are lovely too. Defo come back

"Rainbow Tavern in Kendal"
The best thing about the Rainbow Tavern was its convenience - right in the middle of town with ample parking in its own designated car park to the rear - a big plus for Kendal. The room was in an annex building that appeared to have been a former store room or cellar, and while, evidently, in need of a bit of redecoration and maintenance, was perfectly adequate for a couple of nights in Kendal, and furnished with ample clean bed linen and towels. Other than providing bed and breakfast, the venue happens to be a pub, so it doesn't sport the facilities of a multi starred hotel. The pub proprietors were friendly. Overall, the Rainbow Tavern met my needs and I would choose to stay there again.

Kendal is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Kendal, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Kendal hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
