This hotel is amazing for how inexpensive and central it is to Joetsu. The Art Hotel has 3 of its own restaurants in property, all serving delicious western and Japanese exclusive food. Close to many restaurants and bars. A great Lawson convince store across the street and a 5 min walk to Takada Station. This is a great place to stay!

Absolutely fantastic. It's beautifully decorated and very clean. The staff were very warm and kind and made my stay very comfortable. My Japanese is very limited, but they took the time to carefully explain things for me at a level I could understand, including the food. If you can get out to Tsunan (and the train there was quite scenic, so do try), I really can't recommend it enough. My only regret is that I didn't stay longer.

I just loved loved loved loved loved staying here — the owners are wonderful. Extremely hospitable and helpful. It has a local Japanese vibe that you don’t get in some places The rooms were super comfortable and well heated, breakfast was yummy. Thank you for the warm hospitality
