"Nice hotel, but could do better"
The hotel is in a good location, easy to walk to the centre of town. When we arrived there were no parking spaces available and so had to ask for change for the local ca park. Check was quick and easy and I thought the receptionist said we had been given a better room, which I was glad to hear as all the reviews I had read stated how small the rooms are. When we got to the room it was very small. Just enough room for the bed. The wardrobe was extremely small and we couldn't hang all of our clothes and shut the door properly - and we were only there for two nights! Plus, there was not one drawer we could use to store clothes or other items. Never been in a hotel room that has absolutely no drawers. Breakfast the next day was quick, but would recommend you get breakfast in town for a fraction of the price and better quality.

"Exeter hotel"
Nice hotel in central exeter. Have stayed many times over the years. Very comfortable bed and reburbished bathroom was lovely. The quality of the toilet roll was better suited to a bikers' caff - surprising really. I'll take my own next time.

"Needs a refurb."
It's a nice hotel near the sea, but the rooms are quite dated. We were unable to access the outdoor pool after 4pm due to staff shortage, which was a shame considering it was during the hottest days of the year. The hotel staff especially restaurant staff were very friendly and the dinner menu was nice, breakfast selection was vast with a huge variety of items.

"A lovely experience"
We enjoyed our stay greatly, even though it was just for one night. Everything was nicely arranged and done, with obvious personal touch. The room was just a bit chilly, a factor for someone with bad back like mine, but nothing a layer or two couldn't fix. Definitely will stay again when the road takes us towards Exeter.

"Quiet Charming Country Hotel with Spa."
If you are looking for a peaceful break in a quiet location away from it all with a countryside views, spa and good food then this is the place for you. We booked a weekend at this hotel for our anniversary and were not disappointed. We were greeted on arrival by the friendly receptionist who provided all the information about the hotel, dining and spa facilities. (A porter is available if needed). Before dinner, we were guided to the sitting room and presented with dinner menus and the waiter brought drinks no rush or fuss. Dining was a pleasure, the waitress and waiters were friendly and nothing was too much trouble Set price 2 / 3 course and a la carte options are available. Our food, was very tasty, well cooked and nicely presented. A good selection of reasonably priced wines were available. Coffee with petit-fours finished our evening meal as we were too full to eat desert. On arrival our room overlooked the croquet lawn and was nicely furnished with a comfortable bed, tea and coffee making - a nice touch - storage jar with fresh cooked flapjacks. Disappointingly the jar was not refilled by room service nor was the empty box of tissues! Breakfast - Cooked to order / buffet. Tea & coffee freshly brewed (no noisy machine self service here!) For variety on our second night we choose to eat at The Rising Sun near Ashburton (A good option - see hotel welcome guide). Our experience was great but If you are on a tight budget, eat out at the local pubs / restaurants!

"Great location"
the location is fantastic, the employees are great and the rooms are clean but I was disappointed in the actual rooms. This hotel is an old dormitory and the rooms are mostly very tiny 2 single bed rooms. I do not feel that this was relayed very well while booking so I was disappointed on arrival. Although I really enjoyed the experience of staying in a 14th century facility I would likely not re-book there. The breakfast was very good and took a bit of the sting off.

Exeter is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Exeter, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Exeter hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
