"Weekend away"
This was a great hotel in a great location, we loved the quirkiness and age of the building the wonky corridors are really in keeping with the building of this age, there is an issue with parking which we wished it had been advertised as you need to book a parking space and we had not been informed. The living public areas were really good with roaring fires which were especially welcome on a very wet weekend Food wise Breakfast was excellent, lots of choice, good service and we enjoyed both mornings that we stayed The food in the restaurant was good with a great selection of wine even by the glass, the only thing that let the stay the stay down was the length of time it took for food to arrive , the first time was a saturday night so we expected it to be busy although it was took 30 minutes for the bread and olives after ordering and only consisted of a two mall rolls which is a lot of money for what was delivered , The Sunday night was not busy but waiting staff surpassed themselves in taking over 45 minutes to deliver the bread and olives after ordering but hey we did get four rolls! they were so slow the the lady sitting to our side declined the main meal as it had taken so long to be delivered. We gave up waiting after half an hour between the main meal and the sweet course as we were left menus and no one came back to ask what we wanted, not what you expect on a quite Sunday evening i do think they need to improve the levels of sevice based on the quality of

"Quiet hotel "
It is very isolated and despite the number of quests was very quiet - however it was a good hotel for a stopover.

An attractive building with lovely gardens. We had two rooms ( we were asked to change rooms to accommodate guests for a wedding) the first one frankly was very small, with insufficient storage facilities and noisy. The second room was completely different being more modern, roomy with excellent facilities. The food was excellent as were the staff. We would happily recommend the hotel provided the accommodation was in the newer section.

"Hotel on Dartmoor"
The hotel is gorgeous - the grounds, the interior, the location The only problem is that, once there, there is really no choice other than to eat in the restaurant. The food is pretentious and "cheffy". We had to search hard for the piece of lobster and it was covered in blobs of different coloured liquids, all with little taste. In order to fill up we had to ask for extra bread and a supplementary cheese plate. The haddock at breakfast was trendily undercooked and therefore lukewarm and the egg tasted of the vinegar in the poaching water. We had just spent 2 nights at Rick Stein's Seafood Restaurant where the food is delicious and varied, the portions copious and there are more than 2 inches of wine in the glasses. The hotel is well worth a visit but take a picnic hamper.

"Nice B&B"
Very attentive host who upgraded us to a room with a bathroom due to a cancellation. The house was clean and tidy. Breakfast was tasty and well presented. If I had to find fault, then for 5 stars I think I'd expect a tv in the room or alternatively a larger one in the lounge, perhaps a later checkout and not a shared bathroom. But that's if I had to find fault. We had a lovely stay.

Newton Abbot is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Newton Abbot, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Newton Abbot hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
