"Long Staycation at West Wind Inn"
Stayed there over a long weekend Thursday 8/3- 8/6. First time in Sannibel. Traveled from Tampa area. First off, a $6 toll to get there! Wow... did not expect that. Island is very nice, quaint and peaceful. No crazy high rise hotels, etc. lots of nature around you. Check in and everything was smooth. you get a nice coupon book for different things at this resort and their other affiliated sites (BOGO on drinks, 15% dinner, etc) Room was overall nice and somewhat updated. We were happy to have a normal size refrigerator, microwave and stove, sink to utilize. It was furnished with plates/cups/silverware as well which was a plus. Bathroom was small and tight but updated nicely. We had a partial gulf view with screened balcony (they are all screened). This was nice to sit on after the kids went to bed. The AC was loud as others mentioned in reviews, but our family likes white noise so that was not a big deal. One of the beds was VERY squeaky though and left my wife and I uncomfortable thinking we were going to wake the kids up with the ever so slightest movement!! If we would of been staying longer, i would have requested a change. Overall would recommend this place. We booked on very short notice and got a fair deal with an Expedia coupon code in addition. Overall, cant complain.

"close to beach "
Room was clean & comfortable. Bathroom was small. Did see some small ants on upper wall by TV area. Management did offer to come and take care of them. Problem with room key not working three times. Pool was nice but towels weren't always available during the afternoon hours. Food and drinks at the pool bar were delicious and reasonable priced.

"Very friendly and helpful staff."
We enjoyed our week long stay tremendously. Two-bedroom two-bath condo with ocean view was very pleasing with a great view. Staff couldn't have been any nice or more helpful! Kayaks, bikes, tennis and pickle-ball equipment were all readily available and free to guests! Also, umbrellas and lounge chairs on beach were free to guests

"Decent hotel, housekeeping issues"
We would leave our room at 10am and return around 4 or so every day. No housekeeping ever came. We had to request clean towels every day, one day we had to request them multiple times because no one brought them. By the end of our 4 days there our trash was overflowing and my family of 4 had 16 dirty towels and washcloths pilled up in the corner because no one ever came to clean our room. As for the rest of the facility it was decent. A little dark at night time, not alot of lighting on the deck and tiki area which Im assuming is due to the sea turtles. View from our room was beautiful.

"ON THE BEACH"
We spend 5 days in this hotel and absolutely book again. Originally we booked a 2 bedroom suite and loved it but then we fortunately asked if we could upgrade to be on the beach and it was so worth it. There is only 6 beach view suites but so worth it. Getting up every morning and opened the door and seeing that beautiful beach was amazing. Staff was super accommodating and there was a little store across the street if you needed anything. Pools are clean and walking distance to everything. I will absolutely be coming here..

"Close to beach, great for families with small kids"
Very nice... resort supplies most things which makes it easier when traveling. Lots of fun activities in area to do with kids and good restaurants around as well. Closeness to beach is a plus too. We love the fact that resort supplies beach umbrellas and chairs.

Captiva is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Captiva, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Captiva hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
