Excellent amenities, food and room

A tastefully developed pub with ample rooms, stylish appearance and appealing atmosphere. Dinner was a little disappointing (had the buttermilk chicken burger) which felt as if it had been pre-prepared/defrosted and reheated. May have just been an unlucky experience as generally the food reviews are very good and the breakfast was truly excellent and very fresh. Husband's burger was good. Staff very pleasant. We had a waterside suite which looked over the cricket pitch at the back so was quiet. Used it as a base to start the Thames Path walk at its source near Kemble.

Overall, our experience at the hotel was okay, and its location is certainly one of its main advantages. It is conveniently situated close to the shops, bars and restaurants, making it a good base for exploring Worcester. Unfortunately, our room was disappointing. We were given a room which appeared to be in the older part of the hotel and, unlike other areas, it did not have air conditioning. Our stay coincided with a particularly hot weekend, with temperatures still in the high 20s at night, making the room extremely uncomfortable. The window could only be opened a fraction, so there was very little airflow. The hotel did provide a fan, which was appreciated, but it simply wasn't powerful enough to make much difference given how warm the room was. Air conditioning or better ventilation would have made a big difference. The hotel itself also feels as though it is in need of some updating. The décor is a rather mismatched mix of different eras, and some areas would benefit from being refreshed and modernised. While this may add some character, it currently feels more dated than charming. Overall, the hotel is in a great location and was adequate for our stay, but the lack of air conditioning, particularly during such a hot weekend, was a significant drawback. With some updating and improvements to the rooms, it could be a much more comfortable place to stay.

Loved our stay here. We expected it to be good but it exceeded our expectations. Room had plenty of space, huge bed, big bathroom. Every member of staff was friendly. Breakfast was really good and even though it was very busy and you needed to wait for any ordered food, it was worth it. Would definitely stay here again.

Lovely location and a very welcoming hotel. Friendly and helpful staff and the room was spacious with good amenities and very accessible. The hotel is dog-friendly and our room was perfect with an external “patio” door giving access to the large and very nice garden.

A great hotel nestled between two parks and a short walk to the Cheltenham Town Hall.
