I really loved this hotel, went as a couple for a couple of nights. It's about 20 min tram ride from the centre but it's a lovely journey. The room was so cool and the bed so big and comfy. The best thing about it was the staff, so friendly and helpful!! They have free bikes to borrow in the morning, they're limited but there were plenty left when we went down about 11am. Really loved it and would recommend it to anyone!

Philip (one of the managers) was great! Personalized our experience & accomodated our needs. Except for linen not changed after 2 days, everything was wonderful. Staff were helpful with dining suggestions & directions how to get to places.

If you prefer personal over branded experience, this is a good place to stay. Friendly staff, good buffet and dinner service. The rooms are clean, cozy and functional. Don't expect a bellman, concierge, etc.

This was a wonderful hotel in Amsterdam. The interiors of the hotel are beautiful and tastefully designed. The staff is truly excellent. The concierges were the best I have ever encountered. They were excellent on getting tickets for everything we wanted to do in Amsterdam and in obtaining transportation for us. The restaurant and food service in the hotel was world class. Salmon and caviar dishes, seared fresh tuna all of these things were the best even to the side dishes prepared with skill and presented and served with true class. My wife is a trained and excellent amateur chief and even she who eats only a few bites of food at most restaurants before pushing her plate away, was discretely spearing food from my plate (I let her, she's underweight, I'm the opposite). Sitting on the hotel's terrace overlooking a peaceful canal with beautiful watercraft on it sipping a perfectly made beverage and was truly pleasant.

The hotel is well decorated and very modern inside however we were provided with two single beds instead of a double. The hotel staff were helpful and let us check in earlier than 3pm and provided us with a fan when it was too hot in the rooms. The location was relatively good as it was on a nice street very close to a tram stop. The hotel is walking distance to the museums but quite far away from central Amsterdam. Would definitely recommend if willing to take the tram!

Qbic hotel is in a fantastic location with less than 2 minute walk from Zuid station which has direct access to city centre as well as the airport. Hotel was a little futuristic which we loved, rooms were clean and cleaned every day the bed was big and comfortable, being a 'cube' hotel room it sometimes felt like I had the toilet break in the living room. Shower was really nice but is on the same tank as the sink so make sure your partner not washing her hands when you enjoying the hot water otherwise you end up screaming :) The free coffee machine in the lobby we absolutely abused to the maximum as well as the free munchies. They also had computers in the lobby which you can surf the web for free. Free fast wi-fi across the entire hotel including your rooms too. Staff were friendly it was like being in 'apple store' hotel everyone was cool laid back and very modernised. Receptionists were all great we have seen at least 5 different guys in 3 days. I would come back anytime and can't think of any type of people who wouldn't like these kind of hotels. Okay that's not true maybe elderly conservative people wouldn't appreciate the hotel that much, we had a great time though! They had vending machines for alcohol purchase but the place could really do with a small bar.

Xaviera's is a bit left of centre. Do your research as It is not for everyone. Eclectic and a tad cluttered. Remember you are staying in somebody's home, complete with pets. Hosts are very welcoming and we loved our stay. Sorry our stay was short and we crammed in so much as we did not get to lounge about and interact more with Xaviera and Phillipe. They gave us some great tips for dining and getting about. We would stay there again.
