Unfortunately, my check-in experience was disappointing. The check-in location is different from the property itself, which wasn't very clear. When I called because I couldn't find anyone, the staff member responded by asking sarcastically if I hadn't seen the sign on the door. After I reached the check-in location, no one was at the reception, so I called again. When he arrived, he said, "Are you the one calling me?" and then complained that he couldn't even go to the washroom. Throughout the check-in process, he came across as intimidating and responded sarcastically whenever I asked questions. As a non-French speaker, I also felt that I was treated less respectfully, which made the experience uncomfortable. While the property itself may be fine, the customer service left a very negative first impression.

Hotel was fine for our needs. Room was dated but most importantly clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Great location! Underground parking was convenient. As good as the hotel was, the attached bar/restaurant wasn’t at all welcoming. It was around dinner time and the place was empty. The server was put out to have us there. There weren’t any tvs or music playing. Just a dead, lousy vibe… Luckily there are other much better options nearby. We would stay there again and skip the bar/restaurant.

Centrally located, ARC Hotel was great for our get get away in downtown Ottawa. Staff were great, accommodation was good.

We opted for the Gold plan and loved it! Breakfast was included, small plate appetizers and canapés and then dessert served in an exclusive common room from 5:00. Excellent service. But the hotel needs some refurbishing and updating. The desk chair in our room was literally shredded. This is a premium property. A wonderful and historic and perfectly located hotel. The Fairmount needs to give it some love.

Good staff Hotel aminities are old

The property was quite good overall. Although the access to the pools and spa costs extra, the hotel is so reasonably priced that it’s okay. I was in a sixth floor one queen plus sofa bed room. I would avoid booking these rooms until they are renovated it was pretty worn. My friends room on the fourth floor with the two queens with the French doors separating them had clearly been more recently renovated and was quite nice

Too many children running wild in the halls and parents not doing anything to control them. 10-12 year old boys banging on hallway walls past 9:30pm. Staff not stopping them.
