Celebrated our Anniversary. The hotel grounds, beautiful. Room was comfortable. Liked the complementary wine reception, and coffee/tea in the morning. Main pool was beautiful but no lounge chair mat's (uncomfortable) or jacuzzi. Spa pool does but charges.

We stayed here with friends for 2 nights in August. The hotel staff were so friendly and accommodating. The cottages were lovely and private. We enjoyed time by the pool/hot tub and even used the beautiful pools at the spa. There is a shuttle that takes you into the Sonoma square where all the restaurants are. They drop you off and will pick you up until 10:30pm as well. We can't say enough about the great time we had here!

My husband and I throughly enjoyed our stay. It was our first time to Sonoma and we were celebrating his birthday. So many personalized and special touches at this location: uniquely designed rooms, private gardens, fresh bakery goods outside our door each morning and to top it off, the thoughtful and kind delivery of a birthday treat for my husband our last night there. All that coziness and privacy is only a 5 minute walk to the main square, which has great shopping and amazing restaurants. We will definitely be back!

Quiet and comfortable place a block from the square. They afford you exactly the amount t of attention you ask for. We got engaged on this trip and they sent a comp bottle wine and chocolates to our room within 5 minutes of learning our good news. And the home-cooked breakfasts are a wonderful change from the standard hotel breakfast buffet.

Hotel couldn't be better located. Right on the corner of Sonoma Plaza. We loved the old western charm of this historic hotel. If you can only do modern hotels, don't come here. If you love authenticity -- you will love the place. Nice amenities: afternoon wine service in lobby; morning continental breakfast (pastries; coffee; tea). One complaint: they heat the water for tea in same system that brews coffee. So water has remnant coffee taste -- not a good thing. But other than this, a great place to stay.

In California's wine country, Sonoma revives the senses with spas, wine tasting, top-rated restaurants, and scenic countryside. Vineyards on rolling hills literally sparkle with silver streamers designed to deter birds. Historic sites from the 1800s include Lachryma Montis, the 20-acre estate of General Mariano Guadalupe Vallejo, and the Sonoma Mission, on downtown's charming eight-acre plaza.
