"Nice hotel facing the beach front"
Stayed overnight for a family visit. Reception staff quick, efficient and always helpful. We booked a superior room which was looking out the rear of the building. The room itself was compact, clean and comfortable with a shower (no bath). Coffee and tea facilities were also available. There are a few dedicated parking spaces to the side and rear of the building and additionally, there is an arrangement with enclosed parking a few hundred metres/yards away. It is best to unload baggage first if using this facility.as pavements are very uneven around the side streets. Other metered parking is available along the seafront, but can be difficult to find spaces nearby. We used the restaurant for a evening family reunion dinner and the quality of the meals served was very good, as was the service provided by the staff. Service and quality of food for breakfast is just as good. We have stayed here on a few occasions and would do so again.

"Pleasant enough "
Great location, right on the seafront. Hotel decor quite elegant but we found our bathroom very tired and quite small. The room size was generous but we both didn't sleep well on the tired mattress. The buffet breakfast was good but not spectacular. But for one night's stay we were satisfied.

"Nice Hotel"
I enjoyed staying in Cavendish hotel. However, the price of the Breakfast was too high and preferred to take my breakfast out side the hotel.

"Free car parking an advantage"
Got budget room, facing car park at the back. OK, but bathroom has no radiators and it must get cold in the winter.

"Landmark Hotel in Eastbourne"
Have used the Grand Hotel, Eastbourne for 50 years. Its a landmark, but it needs constant care and attention. Staff are very helpful, but the facilities are in decline. Examples: in the main dining room the ceiling looks like its about to fall down in one location. Cleanliness is not good in the corridors and rooms. Someone needs to clean the base boards. Facilities and furniture in the room are tired and not what you would expect in a high end hotel. That being said, the Grand is the Grand, and those of us that know it like to stay there. It wouldn't meet the required standards anywhere else in the world. To be honest its really expensive for what it is, but is likely costs a huge amount to maintain.

"Good location, opposite the beach"
Hotel is located in a very good location with a short walk to the Old Town. It was convenient. Located on busy road opposite the beach. Facilities were acceptable, although walls are thin so you have noise from neighbour rooms, outside and above/below. Overall was good value for money

"Ideal stopover ! "
Great location, nice bright airy room too (room 7) comfortable bed and generally clean. Good shower but needed a touch of descaler to clean it. And also,on the room description it says hairdryer, iron and ironing board in the rooms....... Not in ours! My partner had to go down to reception and see if he could get me one , well he stood there for over 10 minutes and no body appeared ,even using the phone on the front desk, that tells you to call it if nobody is at reception was a total waste of time!

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Old Town Hastings hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
