Great location, wonderful facility!

We absolutely love this hotel and have stayed several times previously. We had a frustrating and disappointing stay this time. Our room was on the ground floor and our windows were screwed permenantly open (due to recent hot weather). At around 10pm a team of workers came in to dismantle a stage in the function room. We could hear everything, loud banging, dragging furniture etc, presumably made worse by our window being open. This went on until close to midnight. We also had a group of youths sitting on a bench under our window who were extremely loud. I appreciate this is of no fault of the hotel but if we were able to close our window this wouldnt have been a problem. I went to reception at around 11pm to borrow a screwdriver to remove the 4 screws holding our window open but I was not allowed to. At around 6am, the dismantled stage was then being removed from the function room and loaded onto a lorry, again being so loud it kept us awake for another couple of hours. This level of dusruption is really not acceptable when we paid for a nice relaxing night away.

We booked a 2 night stay for our 9th wedding anniversary and we couldn't have been happier. So happy in fact that on checkout we actually went back inside for one more coffee before leaving. The Bruce Suite was immaculate and perfect. Little touches wishing us best wishes on our anniversary with a prosecco on arrival, a card and even little touches when having our evening dinner meal. The spa was amazing and genuinely as a whole experience makes our top 3 of all time. Staff were always on hand for whatever needed and couldn't do enough for us. Thank you so much for making our time a special one and no doubts we will return in future.

Not a clean property and very much in need of a refurb. Lots of dirt, hairs in the bathroom, thick dust and grime. Lots of the appliances were in need of replacing, second bathroom sink hanging off the wall, tap in kitchen about to come off, mattresses were absolutely awful. Property was very noisy also
