"Great breakfast!"
Perfect layout of family rooms, with one double bed and 2 singles, everyone gets a reading lamp near bedside; no rugs in room is great for allergies. Clean bathrooms, lots of towels and a free shuttle to Blue Lagoon.

"Exceptional setting and views"
We checked in very late on a Saturday night and as promised, we were able to pick up our keys at their hotel location where they have staff on duty in the evening. The location was easy to find with both Google and the directions we were given. Our room was new and very clean and perfect for the four of us with 4 single beds. It was disappointing on Sunday morning to learn that their restaurant was not open and it was difficult on a Sunday to find a location to go for breakfast. We drove into Reykjavik for breakfast and found a lovely cafe called C is for Cookie. As we were leaving each morning early and arriving late at night from touring all day, we never saw any staff at this actual location. Our room was made up each day though which was nice.

"Last night in Iceland - Great Spot"
We needed an easy-access hotel to the airport as we were headed back home in the morning, and this place was just the ticket. Our room shared one big bathroom w/one other room, which was an excellent ratio. And it was the first one we ran across that had a bathtub, not just a small shower. It's a WW2 military base converted into a hotel with multiple room options, including hostel. The common building had a bar with some local brews on tap, several areas for seating and relaxing, a bookshelf with a large selection of books, games, puzzles, cards - you could really just hang out and relax with the other guests, if so inclined. Quick breakfast options in the morning, but we had to leave very early so ate at airport instead. For the money, this fit our needs perfectly - great location, relaxed feel, good way to "decompress" after a long and incredible adventure in Iceland.

"Convenient Airport Hotel "
I was only there for one night and I happened upon a few technical issues they were having. There was no functioning elevator in my section of the hotel due to renovations, the Apple TV was not working that night, and my wake up call never materialized - luckily I had set up the alarm on my phone, but that could have led to serious rushing or even showing up for my flight very late. Nevertheless, these are all fixable issues so I would try the hotel again. I would recommend a second person at the reception desk. One person for that size of hotel meant people were often kept waiting. It was a lot for one person to juggle and I highly commend the young woman who was there when I checked in who was multi tasking exceptionally when I arrived and who helped me carry my luggage due to the elevator issue and my bad back.

"Close to airport for early flights"
We stayed here after a few days in Reykjavic, because we had an early morning flight next day. It is ideal for this purpose, with free airport shuttle (confirm this with hotel when booking), and they even put on a breakfast at 0400 if required! As an 'airport' hotel, sometimes guests arrive and depart at all hours so there may be a bit of corridor noise, but it is minimal. The staff were very helpful, and we were happy with our choice of hotel.

Gardur is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Gardur, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Gardur hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
