The Lighthouse Inn is a hidden gem. Beautiful, clean and bright throughout and located in a gorgeous, peaceful setting. Even though it may be a little out of the way, it was absolutely worth it. The restaurant was excellent.. and very reasonably for dinner with a wonderful buffet breakfast included. We really can't think of any complaints/suggestions. We would absolutely come back the next time we're in the area.

Hidden Gem.

The owner allowed us early checkin at no additional cost, also had a great sense of humour. The staff was very helpful. The room was clean, spacious with lots of amenities. Buffet breakfast was included and a great choice of options to eat Check in and check out was quick and simple.

The owner and staff were so helpful as we arrived early from our cruise ship and they were very accommodating. Lots of nice general areas for us to relax as a group waiting for our rooms and in the evening after a wonderful dinner at the restaurant. Hot home baked bread at breakfast was a treat

If you've ever flown into Iceland, you know the international airport (Keflavik) is 45 minutes from Reykjavik and not conveniently located at all (because it was built as a NATO base and not a commercial airport). This hotel in the small town of Gardur is much closer to the airport and is in a very quaint setting a few hundred yards from a beach and a classic lighthouse. We chose it deliberately having visited Iceland and that lighthouse the previous year. Although Reykjavik is worth a day trip, most of the natural wonders you go to Iceland to see requires driving far away from the city. This hotel was perfect for our purposes. The room was nice, the staff friendly and the price significantly less than in Reykjavik.

This property was better than I thought it would be when we booked last minute on Expedia. Super clean, and we were greeted get a warm and friendly staff person in the evening. Breakfast was also excellent. Great option to stay at for the night before your flight versus the airport hotel options… super peaceful to look out on the ocean and the horses next door. Perfect finish to our trip.

This is an excellent location either to begin or end your visit to Iceland. Quiet, clean, spacious, friendly and welcoming staff, close to the airport.
