"Hotel is magnificent! Staff, wonderful. Food great"
We spent 5 fabulous nights at this fantastic hotel. Everything about Aruba was a delight; even the weather cooperated. We went into town, twice, and enjoyed the area and the people. We took the public bus, which stopped in front of the Riu Antilles, next door, for $2.20 (USD), per person. There are also privately owned van-type white buses that pass by, and they cost $2.00/person. There's an archaeological museum, in town (free), which is great. It explains the history of Aruba, back to the original inhabitants. When we were there (mid-Jan., 2017), their AC was out, and was due to be replaced, shortly, so it was somewhat uncomfortable inside. But, worth it. There's also a history museum in town, which we couldn't visit, because it's closed on Sat. and Sun. We shopped at the open-air kiosks, rested and had a drink at one of the local pubs, and walked through the downtown area, enjoying the sights and weather.
