Spent a week and enjoyed my stay. The staff was excellent and went out of their way to be attentive. The beach was beautiful with a constant breeze. The water wonderful. I only ate lunch from the ocean bar on the beach and enjoyed the food. The lechon sandwich was very good. I ate out more often in old San juan and the la placita area. The hotel at night was quiet which I don't really mind as I found places out that were an easy uber ride away if I wanted more of a party atmosphere. I'd would recommend the la placita area as it is a few blocks of outdoor bars and restaurants where drinking on the street is allowed. Always a lot of people partying and having a good time. Also very safe. The restaurant Juan Enrique was my favorite. Delicious food. I found it on yelp.
The only quibble I would have about the hotel is that the hallway carpeting could be replaced. It just looked out of place for the ritz. But pretty small beans is the scheme of things.

The resort was gorgeous. The rooms well appointed and very clean. The pool areas were well taken care of. The staff was friendly and outgoing. The Lobby Bar was the place to get a great mojito. The only complaint we had was the food...really, everything seemed to be fried or not very fresh. We really thought we'd have more fresh tropical fruit and veggie choices...

Check in was easy. Room is beautiful and clean. View of the ocean was great! The pool really is the biggest Ive ever seen. The swim up bar could be bigger considering the size of the pool. Music should be played at the swim up bar. The entertainment around the main pool is good, but everything there closes down around 5pm. Many places to eat and drink. The food is okay at the buffets. The mexican restaurant is the best! I did request 2nd floor, but they gave me 3rd floor. By the end of the week, my legs and feet hurt from constantly walking up and down 3 flights of steps. They have no elevators. Our maid, Vernetta James was a doll. Always smiling and pleasant. She did a great job cleaning the room. Except for a few phone calls, I was never bothered about the vacation club, which was nice. Room service was very convenient. Sunset Cove is a great beach to hang out. Dont miss the jerk chicken and pork! It's delicious

I couldn't be more impressed with the hotel and staff.
This is the second time I have stayed at a Secrets Resort.
When I arrived at the resort I asked for and I was upgraded to a ocean view.
The staff, food, drinks and activities were great.
The hotel was only 8 years old and the rooms were great.
I can not think of anything that could of made my stay better.

Very pleasurable stay. Close to the beach. The food was good with plenty of variation. The drinks were also very. I recommend the mix drinks. The local beer wasn't as good as it would be in bottles since they only serve draught beer. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Check in was fast with no delays. I will stay here again.

This is a pretty resort for a great price, they do a good job with the all inclusive on a budget.
The staff is happy and mostly smiley 😊 It has a beautiful spa with reasonable prices. Lots of options for pool and beaches and overall a nice mix of family and adult areas.
Saturday checkins seem to be the busiest and a bit chaotic, it took quite a long time to have my room ready, however while waiting I had full access to the resort. I would recommend this hotel for a vacation.

Pros: nice pool, variety of foods at buffet, rooms kept very clean, nice entertainment
I was a little disappointed by the beach, which had a lot of seaweed and actually a lot of plastic garbage floating around. Found via walking the beach that there was a small rubbish dump near the water about 800 feet to the left of the resort.... someone should clean that up and keep it cleaned. There were usually very few people actually in the water. The strong wind on the beach was an issue too to make it uncomfortable, although later in the week I realized it was only like that in the afternoon... in the morning it was pretty calm.
The pool was great, with the 2 major areas between 4.5 and 5 feet deep, swim up bar, and embedded Jacuzzi (not heated though) and plenty of lounge chairs available throughout the day. Although I didn't participate in the games at the pool during the day, they were lots of fun to watch.
