Flight delays pushed our arrival to after midnight … so nice to have a 24/7 front desk! Handy to buses, trains, and the castle.

Everything about 6 Brunton Place was great. Hosts were on hand to greet us on arrival and everything that was needed was on hand. Only stayed one night so our experience was limited but we would have no hesitation in staying here again.

Breakfast was great.

The place was super clean, secured and close to many commodities. I didn’t have a car so parking wasn’t part of the equation for me and I was literally just a few minutes away from the train station. The kitchen was basic but very functional and had all that I needed for my stay; there’s even a dishwasher. I even had a washer/dryer which was also a great bonus for traveling light. The staff I talked to on the phone was fabulously helpful and the cleaning staff I met in the building was very nice and polite. Mine was a studio and was perfect for my needs and exactly what I was looking for when I chose this option for my stay. Be aware that the elevator is not available from the ground floor, you have to climb up one flight of stairs to reach it. To me this was not a problem and was aware of the situation when I made my choice.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights toward the end of our trip to Scotland. The hotel is housed in an older building, but the bathrooms have been nicely updated. Overall, we found our room comfortable, although with the colder weather, it was somewhat difficult to maintain a comfortable temperature. One important consideration is that the hotel does not have an elevator, so be prepared to carry your luggage up several flights of stairs, depending on your room's location. I also had breakfast at the hotel's restaurant on one occasion, and unfortunately, the experience was rather disappointing. The service was not particularly friendly or attentive, and I had to ask for coffee several times. The breakfast itself was average at best. On a more positive note, the hotel staff were polite and courteous throughout our stay. One big advantage of this hotel, particularly for those travelling by car, is the availability of complimentary parking, which is convenient.

Excelling property, close to royal mile
