"Legit Old San Juan hotel"
Love the architecture and location. This was ideal for a stay in Old San Juan. Great restaurants within a couple blocks. Wonderful live music and street dancing just two blocks up the hill. There is parking close by for $20/night. The view is good. Breakfast is good. There were a few mosquitoes in the room even though we were very careful not to leave doors open.

The front desk manager was great and a big help. I really appreciate his time and effort helping us resolve certain issues, I just wish the rest of the front desk staff was as helpful. On two of the nights during our stay our room wasn't cleaned. During one of those instances I went up to the front desk to let them know and ask for towels and the gentelmen there told me he would sent someone right away and before the conversation was over or before I was able to respond he met me with a "your welcome". No apology for my room not being clean but your quick to snap "your welcome" at me before I even get the opportunity to say thank you, that was rude, and to make matters worst an hour later and still no towels we had to go down to the front desk AGAIN to ask for them. On our last day I ask the front desk to order a cab for 5 people with luggage, she confirmed gave me a cab number and a price and when the time came a car showed up that didn't fit us all. When I asked the gentlemen at the front desk he said the front desk clerk prior to him didn't communicate anything to him- he then asked me if I spoke Spanish and ask the cabby to continue the conversation so I was left to sort the issue myself. That's great customer service, thank you. I would recommend the hotel if you get it at an affordable price, the stay was comfortable, the pool was a bit small for the size of the hotel but it does stay open till midnight and the later in the day the fewer the people in the pool area.

Fortaleza Street N 253, San Juan - Map
We had to go to the front desk twice to ask for toiletries. The room was very cold. It's ok if you are going to be out site seeing and need the room just to sleep in. There was hangers in the closet but no drawers to put your clothes away. Street parking is scarce. We parked in a large lot called Fona Felas which was relatively cheap, like $15.00 for24 hours. One thing that was on the plus side is that the room is smack centered in the middle of all the restaurants, bars and shops. Overall the room was ok.

If you are looking for an authentic experience of Old San Juan then this hotel will put the finishing touch on your vacation. The hotel staff was very informative; they recommended great restaurants and areas to visit in the Old San Juan area. I also received an upgrade to a suite courtesy of the hotel. The hotel is also located in walking distance to authentic Puerto Rican restaurants and historic sites.

Cidra is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Cidra, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Cidra hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
