Staff at the front desk like Illaria were wonderful! Others not so much! No AC the whole first day there. Even called Expedia to change us to a different hotel and Expedia was no help at all! The Royal Sonesta kept saying the AC was working. Not at all until I spoke with Illaria and she called maintenance. 2 out of 3 Elevators were broken yesterday! I just needed to take a shower so badly and wasn’t willing to walk the 9 flights of stairs. Took 20 minutes in line to get up to the room. The room was nice and clean but the shower kept leaking water over the floor. Should have stayed at a Hilton.

Nice resort in general. We liked the resort overall however for almost 3 of our 4 nights, there was no AC. The hotel only gave us back some of our resort fee which was not much at all. It was almost 80 degrees in the room at some points and they were doing nothing more than willing to give us back maybe 90-100 dollars from the 200 dollar resort fee.

This was a beautiful property with a wonderful pool, well-equipped gym, and beach access. The rooms were clean and comfortable with amazing views of the ocean (from the small balcony). The only criticisms were how early the pool closed (9pm), how early the beach chairs were picked up (by or before 6pm, which is before sunset), and the very high resort fees on top of the expense of the room. There also weren't many restaurants or shops within walking distance. But otherwise, a very nice and welcoming place. I enjoyed my stay.
