"Close to slopes"
I booked this hotel for my son and friend for spring break. I chose it b/c it was less expensive and free cancellation, but was not expected anything spectacular, but my son said it was really nice.

"A 2 rating can be deceiving"
We were hesitant about staying at this hotel due to the 2 rating but we were pleasantly surprised by how clean the room was and the hotel is located close to the Killington ski area. We didn't utilize all the amenities but the staff was very friendly and accommodating with our requests.

"Stephen and Robin redefine hospitality!"
Our trip went from good to excellent the moment we checked in to the Killington Motel. Not only did the room have extra pillows in the closet but there was an additional space heater and fan as well. Stephen had excellent breakfast options and the generosity was better than I had ever seen. He gave us a gift card for a local coffee shop in town just because we were talking about the place! After a cold day of skiing, Robin offered to make coffee and hot water for tea! I have never seen such hospitable people in a hotel/motel setting. The service is one of a kind and I would recommend this motel to anyone! We also stayed an extra night (a Friday) and they charged us the same great midweek rate we received online when booking.

"Good hotel for a stopover with breakfast included."
This hotel was OK all the way. Nothing extravagant but good for a stopover. Very usefull breakfast is included for people who don't need to take a hearty breakfast, but if you do just a few feet away there is a Denny's and you get a 10 percent mark down by showing your hotel card. The hotel is far from downtown (that is why we marked it as OK vs pleasing), you need your car to go out in the evening, there is not much to do around the hotel. The fact that it is further from downtown though, makes it very quiet at night, so you do get a good nights sleep. So if you pass through Rutland and need a hotel for a good nights sleep before continuing your journey this is a very good place to stop. Breakfast, wifi, clean and quiet, everything you need for a good stopover.

"Great place for a quiet getaway. "
Very comfortable hotel. It was very quiet during our stay, second week of June. The staff were very friendly. The lounge is nice, and the breakfast was good. The only complaint is that the indoor pool no longer had a roof! Other travellers should be aware that there are no nearby restaurants, and it is a ten to 15 minute drive down the mountain to Rutland, where there is lots of choice.

"Great hotel right on the mountain"
Very easy with kids but more green trails based out of other base lodge. Cafeteria is of course overpriced as all ski mountains are, and the Siera restaurant upstairs was horrible. I should have come more prepared and brought more food as the kitchen in the room was more than enough. Pool and hot tubes were nice, although our room over looked the pool and you could hear people at night. The staff was phenomenal, very friendly, helpful and went out of their way to make it a nice experience.

"Suites are Awesome!"
This is the second time we've stayed in a Suite room. King sized bed in the BR; kitchen with full-sized appliances, LR with pull-out Queen sofa, gas fireplace, bathroom with jetted tub! Very comfortable and fully equipped. Small things were so helpful - like doormats for dirty boots, a bench for putting on boots, a closet for skis, complementary packages of New England coffee, Aveda products in the bathroom, kitchen supplies like dish soap, dishwasher detergent, sponge, towels. Then larger comforts like a washer/dryer, two flat screen TVs, DVD player, and an ice maker in the fridge. The unit was spotless (as was the hallway and stairwells in the suite wing). Not easy with so much skier traffic! The linens were crisp and clean and the pillows full and firm. The only marginal complaint - the heat/ac units in both rooms are very noisy when they turn on and run. We have stayed in the non-suite rooms (which are just standard hotel rooms) in the past but now only stay in the suite rooms. They are so much nicer.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
