Central, easy to get to, clean and well-organized. Helpful staff.

The hotel couldn't be more centrally located. The hotel is old in a stately way, yet modernized, clean and convenient. The staff are extremely professional, but there is no porter. The breakfast, while expensive, is exceptional, almost exquisite. The hotel is quiet and cool. The elevator is very small, and, there is no ice or microwave. Sparkling water is free!

The hotel is well situated near the railway station in a peaceful large square with easy access. Parking was easy. Downside was the 'comfort room' situated the furthest point from the elevator and with no view only off a brick wall. The room was spartan as was the bathroom with no extra toiletries -only 1 bath towel & 3 smaller ones. The shower however was excellent. Only a kettle & instant coffee in room - very basic. The bed was comfortable but I consider the room expensive for what is was. The hotel although quite smart and very clean seemed rather soulless and the restaurant was nearly empty unfortunately so didn't eat there. The reception staff were excellent.

Hotel is located at the top of the hill and has easy car parking. It is quite a steep walk down to town though so may not be suitable for everyone. Rooms were large and clean and location suited us well. Lovely views over Lyon

Carlton Hotel Lyon is a lovely, renovated old hotel in the Presquile area of Lyon. It is convenient to all you want to see in Lyon. It is also air-conditioned. Our room was comfortable with a large, modern bathroom. Breakfast was abundant. The staff members were very helpful and speak excellent English. They arranged a car to the airport (which is far out of town) for an early morning flight. If we are ever back in Lyon, we would definitely stay at the Carlton again.
