"Comfortable B&B, perfect for an overnight stay"
We stayed at L’Arène Bordeaux for 1 night and although check-in was at 5pm the owners were able to accommodate our early arrival time of 3pm. The room was modern, fairly basic but cosy with a queen sized bed, safe (which we couldn't work out), tea & coffee making facilities and a small mini bar selection. Looking out the bedroom window we had a view of the roman ruins of palais gallien. We stayed on the 1st floor and our challenge was getting our large suit cases up the winding staircase as we had been travelling for a while. As we stayed on a weekend we were able to park on the street without any parking restrictions. If you were staying during the week I would arrange parking in advance. We opted for breakfast on check-in and it was pretty basic with croissants, cereal, fresh juice, tea and coffee and fresh home-made jams but enough to kick start your day. On the day of departure the owners were happy for us to leave our bags whilst we ventured into town which was a 10-15 minute walk.

"Nice, but needs a couple of small adjustments."
Overall, we had a nice stay and a nice room. Our family of 4 fit nicely in the room with queen bed and pull out couch. The couch was actually two pull out single mattresses instead of one double-sized mattress. My kids really appreciated not "touching" each other while they were sleeping. Also, the free wifi was fast. The shower really needs a full curtain or door. Our shower had only a half wall (which actually did not stay in place) and did not prevent splashes from THE OTHER HALF of the shower getting out. It is impossible to not get water all over the bathroom floor. Fortunately, we were provided with lots of towels, so we could mop up after each shower. Also, please add a real coffee maker either in the room or at reception. The room only had powdered instant coffee - really? Also, the coffee machine down at the reception lobby was actually labeled "Only for use during conferences" (loosely translated from French). If that is true, why not just put it away and not tease us with the appearance of a coffee station. Finally, another trash can or two would have been appreciated. In particular, the toilet room had no bin (very inconvenient for girls). Overall, these issues are small and I recommend this hotel.

Bordeaux is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Bordeaux, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Bordeaux hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
